If people were curious I cut the front part that gets in the way of the grille. It worked and I'm also selling the hood cause I just got my new one in.

That doesn't look all that bad. I just cut the top section of the kidney grills off. Looks a bit off. I've been looking for a LCI hood but I want a painted one off a rear ended car

I think that looks terrible, and you ruined a good hood. All you had to do was remove the outer trim from the grills, and only use the fins. Now you have a huge gap in the most prominent space on the whole car.

IDK man. All things considered, I think he did well. Props to former audizine member and for being bold.

Gap is pretty minimal. Aftermarket hoods have way worse gaps. I think it looks more cheese with the cut grills. Considering this myself.

not bad for a DIY but I would have picked up an LCI hood as well - LCI front looks great though!

Op said he has another hood in the works. Might be LCI might be aftermarket. this was a perfect holdover while the new one arrived.

it's not perfect but i guess if you really wanted to save a buck or two, this could work. I still prefer the indentations on the LCI hood though... adds a bit of "flare" to the body work.

Anyone know if you can re-use the OEM pre lci hardware on an LCI hood? getbmwparts has just the hood for $487 + shipping.
