Guys - ignorant to this stuff - so a simple question - I have my JBD at 100% and throwing codes only on rare occasions (too much too soon etc...and then its a simple off on of the engine to reset)...why cant it be pushed further? to the point just under where it would throw codes on a regular basis? Maybe its a 110% or 120% of where I am at now? What is/are the limiting factors is it fuel rail pressure, turbos etc? Just curious thanks!

Considering it raises the fuel rail pressure. Think perhaps pushing it further than the 100% limit would jeopardize the fuel system. Perhaps blow out fuel rail or injector seals and spew diesel fuel on a hot engine creating a rolling Car-B-Que down the highway. Now if you can reset that code....you're on to something!

100 percent of what? :roll eyes:

BMW and their $1Billion R&D considers 100 percent to be "stock".

JBD and it's "considerably less than $1Billion R&D" says "The car can handle more".

I guess the next logical step is to refer to whatever chenry and his pet squirrel devise in his garage over a 12-pack as "100 percent".

One of the reasons the codes start popping up is the difference between the distorted "actual" measured rail pressure the DDE sees and the "calculated" pressure it expects, which eventually exceeds a threshold. The higher you turn up the JBD the more error is introduced.

If you stack JBD on top of a remap, please be careful. You'll be able to quickly exceed the torque limit of the transmission, as well as push EGT's to unsafe levels.
