$97 shipped. I can't beat that if I buy everything separately.
But now that the sell the BMW brand oil, I'm not sure about the quality.

What's the verdict on the Castrol vs BMW oil test?
Was Castrol better since there was less junk built up on the bottom of the test flask?
What about the fact that the bmw didnt all boil away

I have been using Millers EE Longlife 5w30 LL-04 for the past year or so. Seems ok, but I haven't tested it obviously. I don't really believe that it is any better than any other particular oil on the market, but I get absolutely fantastic service from their USA rep at Performance Racing Oils. I have their gear oil in the diff now as well and it seems great so far.

Lots of people I know run Millers in their rally cars and their cars haven't broken yet. If anybody can convince me that any other oil is better I will buy it, but otherwise I just want whatever I can get the fastest and with the least trouble.

One time they sent me the wrong stuff, their 5w40, which is also LL-04. When I told them they overnighted what I had ordered at no charge. I don't think any other vendor I've dealt with would do this, even a dealer.

I use dealer filters. I've looked at Mann and Mahle alternatives but I don't see them as being cheaper or better, so haven't tried them yet.

I use AMSOIL in everything and have always had great luck and the oil seems to stay rather clean at oil changes 5500. Engine, tranny,rear-end.

Ok, i have a question to all "Old" guys (would really like to hear TDi feedback on this, because im really following him in many cases) or anyone really using Rotella!!!

I switched to T6 since I got my car, but didn't drive it once last winter, this winter im planning on using it, NOW, we can have temps as low as -30/-35 degrees C (-22/-33F) i got a good deal on Rotella T6 0w40, but this oil seems to be not as "approved" as regular 5w40, so, it pretty much have less "stuff" on the sticker! Please let me know what you guys think of it and running it in straight piped D in the winter???

I don't "think" much about it. Why do you want to mess around with an oil that doesn't meet BMW's published specs, when Motul, Pentosin, Liqui Moly, and several others are readily available and reasonably priced? Even the new Shell that you get in BMW-branded bottles from the dealers are cheap enough to not care.

If you want to use an OCI close to the factory 13K (on 335d), you'd be foolish to use anything but an LL04 oil. If you're going to go with shorter OCI, I wouldn't think it's a problem. But my experience is also tempered by my poor experience using a non-LL01 oil (Mobil 1 5W-30 because it was cheap at Costco) in my E46 330xi (admittedly an engine known for burning oil) and using 1 quart per 1000 miles starting at 80K miles.

Mobil Delvac 1 ESP also meets the requirements of the API SM specification. The outstanding performance of Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5W-40 is the result of extensive cooperative development work with major equipment builders and application of the latest lubrication technology. As a result, this product meets or exceeds the requirements of the latest API, ACEA, and Global industry specifications for diesel engine oils, as well as the requirements of virtually all major American, and European engine manufacturers. Has anyone used this oil. It appears to be the most advanced.

If you have dpf in use stay with LL04 oils. Otherwise the Mobil delvac1 or 5w40 turbo diesel truck are fine.

I'm well aware of the fact there are lots of T6 fans out there. But it doesn't really matter, since most Blackstone tests show that any oil that meeting LL04 work quite well. T6 isn't really any better than any other.

https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=475850 has Blackstone reports for many LL04 oils. The thread is mainly focused on "will they go the BMW 13K nominal service interval": fact is that they all do.

Have dpf, running stock, use LL04

Don't have dpf, use a 5w40 or 0w40 like rotella t6, m1 turbo diesel truck, m1 0w40, castrol edge 0w40
