Would you spend £20-25k on an E92
As title would like opinions on whether you spend that kind of money? I know many of you probably did spend that kind of money but would you do the same now knowing the platform is already out of date due to 4 series
I'm looking at changing the current diesel E92 and fancy a 335i E92 as fuel/running costs are no longer an issue. Problem is, if I got another E92 I would want one with all the bells and whistles in LCI form which is looking around £20+. Have looked at other cars but nothing is really calling out to me. |

When you see people are paying over £20k for a 4 year old Focus RS, the 335i is a bargain.
I did notice the other night when looking on Autotrader, there is F30 models overlapping with price with E90 models with some of the model variants. That I don't see the point of. It will be a long time before 435is come down to the £20k mark which should keep E90 values at a reasonable level. Unless you want to pay big money you will always need to look at a car that is either coming to the end of its current run, or buy an old model. The only other option is to go for a newer hot hatch. However when you look at some of the hot hatches v the 335i, there isn't enough between the values and ages. All scenarios have their pros and cons. |

Agree it is getting close to M3 money but for me your looking at a lot closer to £30k for a good example. Ideally if I waited a year or so I would have more to pick from and probably a slightly better budget but I'm not very good at waiting!

I didn't think that LCI 335i where going for that much. Can remember seeing a space grey one, with red interior going last year for about 19k on here. Had an individual trim too. Looked the nuts! Best one I'd seen!

I did look around at some of the hot hatches but I do love the looks of the E92 and not keen on a lot of the interiors on hot hatches. Couple of examples of what I have been thinking: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...be20?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...oupe?logcode=p |

Would love an M3 but as said I think your looking at closer to £30k for one with reasonable miles and CIC etc. |

No not really, some very decent ones coming on the Market near your top end budget. I had a good look at them when i sold my E46 M3, but for me even 20k is way over my budget at the moment!

I could not be buying a V8 M3 now knowing the S55 powered M3/M4 is now out pushing 559whp with only downpipes and a tune. I say stick with the 335i for now. And wait till the newer S55 model is cheaper and buy one of those.

It'll be years before a M4 gets to £25k. It will likely be 5 years from now.

I paid less than £20k for my pre-LCI E90 335i nearly 3.5 years ago, So to even think about paying £25k for a non M E90/92 now is just madness in my book .
Also aren't BMW already preparing the LCI F30s? The one of the major things you get extra with LCI E90/92s is the CIC. I did the retrofit my self and after selling my old CCC kit the overall cost was about £500, and since I did my retrofit CIC prices have fallen a bit more. LCI cars do have nicer rear lights, but to pay £25k for one when pre-LCI cars can be had for half that price......Personally I wouldn't, and use the money saved on a LSD, Birds B3 suspension kit and a remap/JB4, all much more interesting things than CIC/exterior changes |
