Saw a fake gay E46 M3!

Had the grills, rims, exhaust and badge.
But lacked the bonnet "bulge" and wide arches and stance of the real one. It looked shit!

So lets just get this right, it's the big M badges that are clownage?

M Sports with M badges as standard (door sills, wheels, etc.) are OK?

From what I can gather anything over and above factory fit is deemed 'clownage'.

I had a rant some time ago that anyone that can be arsed to a) go and buy an M badge, then b) stick it on (usually at a random position) must be a bit of a clown/cock.( i think I went further but I had been drinking) On the premise that they are trying to fool joe public into thinking ooh, theres a M3, M5 etc. Worst offenders seem to be 520d's. And then various 'SE's' But then you get some sticking them on the front grilles. I mean why? Can anyone tell me...Only seems to happen to beemers - very few pretend AMG's or Rs's . Just imho of course. (that 'M' 5 CSL is a cracker by the way) . make sense?

IMHO who gibes a toss about what your car is badged at. We all know that most of the time this is no longer representative of engine size etc anymore.

335 is obv not 3.5 litre

The point is anyone who likes cars for more than the 'i have this, i have that, celeb glamour bullshit' that is so prevalent in society now, they should appreciate the car for its abilities NOT the badge/pricetag.

320d drivers put m3 badges on all day for all I car, we all know who feels like a cock when a real M3 is next to you.

I personally take great pleasure in going out of my way to challenge any non M car badges as though they are, just to see the embarrassed driver shrug as if they don't speak english. HA

Although the worst thing about all of this is those with genuinely quick/desirable cars have rendered them piles of classless tat by the simple act of putting an extra M badge on it.

Function over Form all day!

In my book, the latter are still borderline clownage...

Any M badge on a non "proper" M car is a bit gay. The actual M Sport kit is fine but why the silly pretend M badges? They will always belong on full fat M cars ONLY.

This is yet another opinion that will get me in trouble...

When my brother in-law first got into my 530d M Sport few years back, he looked at the steering wheel and said "is this an M5?, wow!"
So the silly M badges must work on the non BMW-geeks, which is why some of them have to put Badges on the outside

I also think the M Sports have the same steering wheels as the proper M (just without the contrast stiching)
