Using banners as signatures

Why?

Anyone else find this banner really irritating when ppl use it as a sig:

One or two of these, I can handle.

When i see threads littered with this banner, I just close them.

Oh, and top of that, I just realized its being hotlinked from some other site

I have nothing against HPF. They are just innocent bystanders/victims.
