DIY front bumper removal

just used this DIY, thank you VERY much. It was much more simple than any other bumper ive done in the past.

Actually this DIY is incomplete. It has no mention of the screws inside the
wheelarch after you do the outside ones.

i thought thats what the blurry pic was. It was clear to me once i pulled the fender lining back...but you are right, that pic can be more clear...but its not hard to figure out

so the lines on the fog lamp bulbs are stuck to the car and the fog lamp lenses are stuck to the bumper?
which means when you remove the bumper the fog lamp bulbs are stuck to the electric lines and hanging?

Yes to both questions. However there is enough cable to allow you to unscrew
the fogs from them bumper should you wish to do so without removing the bulb
from them.

according to ksfrogman install, the front fogs plug need a little fiddling to plug into the factory wiring. aside from that, the front is easier than the rear.

Just did the install with friends today. The DIY helps but the wheel arch is definitely the most confusing part.

Just wanted to say thank you for making this guide! You are exactly right and made my headlight change a million times easier!

Its taken me about 2 hours from start to finish to change the headlights which isn't bad I think. The people worried about the second picture don't because its obvious when you do it where those small screws are.

Again a big thanx for this!!!

I feel step 2 needs to be expanded to two steps.

There are two screws to release the wheel well arch trim. It then needs to be folding back so you can access two screws underneath near the top that hold the bumper to the metal side panel. These are the screws that pic 2 is showing.

This space is cramped but with a short, straight socket driver, you can get in there to undo these two screws that are hidden by the wheel well arch trim. I couldn't use a ratchet because there was not enough space.

Incidentally, I was just replacing the plastic diamond mesh under the kidney bean grill, so I only needed to release one side, didn't have to take the entire bumper off. Releasing one side allowed me to slip the piece out from the bottom.

no one answered if this is what needs to be done to install the M3 rep front bumper. would rather do it myself than have the shop charge me for installation as well.

anyone assist, also with some advice on the fog installation?

Just removed and put my front bumper back on, but ran into a problem.

The two big metal screw inside the wheel wells that are a strong support for the bumper were stripped. They came out fine, but I tried to screw them back in, and now it just spins... did not even put that much pressure on it at all...

any tips on how to fix it? maybe a bigger screw?
