Talking Pre-Lci Halogen to Xenon Review

Hi guys,

I've been reading this forum ever since I got my BMW a year ago, and these forums have been really informative and helpful.

As you guys know some of the BMWs don't come with xenon (which is ridiculous), and my very first mod has always been set to: xenon retrofit. In the beginning I was very eager to jump into an aftermarket headlight like umnitza and depo, but based on the many reviews that I've read, I decided I want to go oem and do things the right way.

Thanks to Iceberg, and everyone else that contributed to helping me. Special thanks to Ken, he is a great guy and helped me did the install very quickly and is very professional and proud of what he does for us. I would recommend everyone that has halogen to do the oem retrofit because it is definitely worth it.

K enough of me talking, here are some pictures! byebye halogen!

nice work, enjoy!!!
glad you had it all sort out.
I just don't understand why BMW don't put xenon in 323i and some 128i???
hope they will improve in the future
my opinion is all Bimmer should have xenon as a standard feature...

hey I have a set of front lower grill in sliver color came off my car,
I bought from a guy who owns a 335i
if you like, can have it
cheers

i went oem, give or take 1.5k parts and installation, definitely more worth it than umnizta and depo headlights

And another option is to do an actual retrofit (separating the housing to get access to the inside of the housing, replace stock projector with a superior projector) + labor which would be less than half that if you are open to using OEM parts from other car manufacturers. (components such as Acura TL projectors which are one of the best projectors available at a reasonable cost).

Both routes will result in a safer night-time drive. (Don't forget to adjust the aiming of the lowbeam! google HIDplanet: headlight aiming)

Thanks! That's about what I had in mind. I'd rather just take it to BMW dealer and let them handle it and be done with it.

This is a shameless plug.... i have 2 BMW xenon headlights for sale, the lenses need to be changed and one has a broken tab. Easy to fix both items, install some ballasts and bulbs and your good to go with OEM xenon's!! $175 shipped!!
