Hi Brule,
List of mods/repairs on previous page
The removal of the front bumper and lights is mainly to clean the lenses of the lights and fit the intercooler, but also will paint the dk grey bumper grills black.

I don't know anything about these cars or turbo cars so wanted plenty of room to make sure I got it right

have made 0 progress since the photo, have been laid up in bed for 2 days with a virus....should get back to it today, feeling better, not 100% yet but better

will post some more progress this evening after I get through some more

Get well soon Hoper. Good luck with all the tidy up work. Gives me an idea of work required when my RB silicon inlet arrives.

You have the same issue as me, on the wheel hub, in between the wheel nuts, the centre hub is really rusty. Posted up on another thread, anyone, how can you get rid of that rusty part?

I seen your list but wondered why so much was pulled off. Looked like you were up for an engine swap.

I know your sick but harden up and get that intercooler and inlets in ASAP!

Make sure you get a custom tune don't use an ots tune..pleaseeee

if you get stuck on any of it pm me.

Thanks Brule, will do mate

Did another few hours on the car today, took the intake apart, removed the engine cover and replaced the spark plugs, old plugs were looking quite tired so glad I did that.

Also got the oil change out of the way

Noticed quite a bit of oil under the engine cover, was worried that it shouldn't be there, my wife noticed that it was clean oil, so its spillage from filling the car, not leaks

couple of photo's from today's efforts below, starting to feel better so should make good progress tomorrow

AAAAARRRGGGHHHH!
Took the IC out and found that it has quite a bit of oil in it...

@vtl @eb89 @brule I'm assuming this means my turbos need replacing? see photo of cold side pipe from IC to see what I mean, note that there's oil dripping out of the hotside pipe for the IC

pretty normal oil gets in there from the pcv system. if anything the pcv system may be slightly clogged up but you'd need a new valve cover to fix that. it's the reason why i recommend to change the valve cover any time the gasket starts leaking/ is replaced.

my charge pipe had a similar layer of oil when it broke and i changed it.

Thanks Titum, so you reckon I'm prob ok then? I haven't noticed any smoke, but the car did use some oil recently, went from reporting full to 1 notch above the min over about 4 weeks, which would only be about 1000ks...

There's also quite a bit of oil in the IC, small amount of a puddle on both inlet and exhaust side of IC...

should be fine. I don't really trust the oil level sensor mine appears accurate but others have reported it not being accurate.

for reference I'm at 110k km always make sure i fill up 6.5L of oil and after 10k (including 3-4k of hard driving) i dropped just over 5L and the level read 1 notch above min before i dropped it.

Nice, thanks, I just dropped the oil out of mine last night, it was at about 5L and I've put 6.5L in it which is what I'd also read should go in them

Thanks for the advice mate, GOLD

Had an OK day with the car today, still moving a bit slowly after being laid up for a few days

painted the front bumper inserts today and fitted the new FMIC

Didn't have too much trouble with the VRSF 7" FMIC, had to cut the plastic support, but apart from that fit is good

Will test fit the front bumper tomorrow to see how much I need to remove if anything

EDIT- Sorry pic 1 is crap, you can't see but the mount is 50mm behimd the mounting hole because of the front support, I also vacuumed the radiator before installing everything, got rid of all those bugs

PIC 1 - Test fit of the FMIC - some cutting will be required
PIC 2 - After cutting the front support
PIC 3,4,5 - New FMIC installed, and yep thought I'd add a logo

Oil in intercooler and charge pipe is normal.

Just keep an eye on oil consumption though.

Looking good

Thanks Brule, hoping that the RB outlets arrive tomorrow or early next week, I'll get some other stuff done tomorrow, then I'm away for a few days, then I'll finish it off next week

although having a look in there I have no idea how to find enough room to change the outlets so that will be fun, I have no idea how you've done the turbos

and yeah I'll look at a custom tune, will start with one of the MHD ots tunes and figure out where to from there

I'm about to do an mhd ots as well. Will go custom in a bit but not for a few months. Wedge performance seem to be really good at the etunes (from logs), or the mhd boys (justin or martial - not sure) can do it as well

Figure when I get bored of ots I'll go custom.

Ps I also have vrsf 7" fmic. Very happy with it

Thanks Aaron, did you have to cut much off the front bumper for the 7" VRSF to fit?

It's not the bumper instead, it was the plastic liner tray thing. About an inch came off. But nothing off the bumper

Make sure the clamps are on properly or the car won't like you very much haha

Had a pretty goos day on the car yesterday, dropped the exhaust and rear subframe, fitted the new swaybar, painted the rear calipers, did a test fit of the front bumper, changed the vanos solenoids and started the car just to check that the ignitors and solenoids were back in properly, photo's below

I'm now away for 3 days so work will recommence on Tuesday...

Pic 1 - Exhaust out of car
Pic 2 - Some slave labour washing my headlights
Pic 3- New v Old sway bar
Pic 4 - Sway bar in car
Pic 5 - Rear Calipers painted
