How do I know if it's my spark plugs......

I drive a 07 sedan and I am currently at 38,1XX miles and for about a thousand miles now at stop lights or stop signs and when I first turn my car on I feel the car begin to shake.

Is this a sign of my spark plugs needing to be changed?

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

I think misfires would be more likely. But you are at the mileage where it would probably be a good idea to change them.

You could also throw in a bottle of the BMW fuel injector cleaner and see if that has a positive effect.

Simply just take the car into the dealer.
You are still fully covered at that point.
Lots of driving you do.

I do drive very much....about a hundred miles a day

The thing is I have taken it to the dealer and informed them about the shaking but those guys don't know what the hell they're doing. They never have an answer...

your comment is very very true.

I'm almost at 39k miles, already changed my plugs and it did make a noticeable difference in the upper rpms, also smoother at idle.

If there's a different BMW dealership in your area, take it there.

Thanks very much Sniz. I'm going to go back and ask for them to be changed!

So changing of the spark plugs are covered under the warranty? I mean, do you have to twist their arms in order for them to okay it, or just simply ask them and they'll do it?

Because I think I might be having the spark plug issue as well(a bit of a hiccup at idle from cold start-up, and sometimes at higher rpm/speed, the car stutters a little and seemed restricted). It's either that or the HPFP, but I had the dealership check to see if my car's HPFP was being recalled, and he said 'no' after checking my car's VIN.

I hope it's just the spark plugs.........

Thanks,
