They also have a UK site so maybe there is someone allready doing it. I know there is a few using the standard clean system adn I got a quote of around £110 last year but diddn't do it due to the not getting the valves issue.

Can't find anyone in the UK that uses terraclean's intake/valve cleaning system. Seems the fuel system one is all that's on offer, but that won't help with a cokey head.

Still searching for walnut shell blasters. Birds do it manually, and it's the price that was mentioned previously.

Prices from Monster-sport in Milton K:

TerraClean Fuel System service £70+VAT (£84 total) - does not clean intake as goes in via fuel system. Not sure it would have massive benefits on our cars. Also I'm not sure he has quoted the correct price, as for the N54 you would need the bigger cans, which should be about £95+VAT according to PerformanceTuningUK LTD (TerraClean franchisee in Slough).

They say they could also do an Intake Service @ £19+VAT (£22.80 total) but this seems like they just spray some stuff into your intake whilst the engines running, as opposed to TerraCleans official method. I'm not convinced.

1) Do a terraclean intake valve clean

2) Take off the inlet manifold

3) Realise its made no impact on the hardened carbon deposits.

You need to do a clean with brushes and chemicals by hand or do the walnut blast method. There is no other way - otherwise BMW would offer this themselves rather than the walnut blast method which they use..

I think Marcel bought a Walnut Blaster and the official BMW tool, he previously offered to lend it to people, perhaps shoot him a PM.

I suppose you get what you pay for and nothing is really going to get the hardened bits off without some good abrasion.

Must be worth a try though? What if you had the walnut blasting and then the terraclean every 10k miles?

Typical rip off Britain, guys in the States getting this done for as little as $350, one guy is doing it for other forum members at $250.

Or maybe not. Looks like they never got to production. It would bling up the engine bay quite a bit though

No - typical Britain. No-ones got the equipment. Seems there isn't enough demand to justify - in the states they are enthusiastic about stuff like this so people do it even if theyer not making money.

Prestige borrowed a terraclean machine to give it a 'try before you buy' and apparently it is pretty useless so we are back to a DIY or big bucks for the manual/BMW walnut blasting.

Last thing I saw Marcel was on about selling that machine.

You can buy walnut shells anywhere, the material is no problem but its not that cheap.

Units from the USA will be 110v of course so you need a chunky generator or 240/110v transformer to run it.

All you need is four of you to chip in and get it done over a weekend and few shandies.

Then sell it on into the club.

The tool doesn't look complex to make. But it already has a BMW part number. The Yanks buy it from Tischer.
You need a big CFM compressor to run the blaster. The vacuum cleaner - you could use a ratty old Henri or VAX.
