Also in past models, you could have your keyfob reprogrammed to always double-lock (it's a different signal). From my cursory reading of the manual, it looks like a keyfob lock now performs a double lock by default (I haven't tested). Pressing the console button to lock always sends a non-double-lock signal, since presumably someone is in the car who will need to get out in an emergency.

Double locking prevents smash and unlock theft (same reason the lock pin descends below the surface of the door sill and can't be pulled up like in old cars) and also disables the console lock/unlock button. If you put a really big valuable item that won't fit through the windows in the backseat of your car and then double lock, no matter what a thief does, it can't be stolen.
I had this happen to me while rolling a blunt on a hot summer day at the beach when a old person walked past my door and i locked myself inside the car. I swear I almost died that day.

Definitely a feature I'll be using more.
I discovered this as well. You can do most things through voice command. If you see text, you can probably say it. Try saying "Switch off control display," and it'll turn off!

Funny as hell man. Started my day with a laugh for sure.

Ive locked myself out with it running before which was embarassing and annoying. Now I have an extra "blade" part of the key to prevent that ever happening again.

THIS IS BLOWING MY MIND:

Apparently, heated side mirrors are standard (if you have heated seats)!

They are only activated if you use the seat warmers. Touch your hand against the side mirror glass after driving for 10-20 min with the heated seats on.

Compare to driving 10-20 min with the heated seats off.

you're right, I tried it again with the seat warmers off and they appear to still work. It must be based on outside air temperature.

Residual Heat

So I read about the residual heat by pressing the RES button on the A/C controls...problem is, I can't find a RES button on my 2011 335. Does my car not do this? I have m-sport package and cold weather package if that helps. Thanks!

When I hit a great shift, my car tickles my balls. If I miss a shift, it slaps them.

The RES button was replaced with the ALL button. I had to code my car to reactivate the residual heat feature using the ALL button.

Bummer. How do I do the re-code? Or should I have it done when I take the car in to have my tune done?

So does anyone have experience using the 'Activate Parked Car Vent' feature? Worth using? Summer/winter?

When you disconnect Maf, car will still operate fine, but if you hold the breake pedal, your gas pedal will stop functioning until break pedal is released.

I don't have heated seats but Mirrors are heated. Not sure they are tied in with heated seats as a feature.
Though that's great that it turns on when heated seats are on that's pretty cool.

That's what I found in the manual (06 330xi) It probably comes on when the snowflakes appears indicating the "certain limit."

Not sure if anybody mentioned this already, but I just noticed it the other day. Holding the heated seat button turns it off without going through all 3 settings.

Thing I didn't know about the n54 engine is that is you stomp on the gas pedal it makes my car go super fast!! If I could only fit like two little Mexicans inside both my turbos I believe it would be so much more responsive !! Exciting shit!!
