Question a Noob Question

Hey guys, I have been reading a bit in here (and searched a bit with the ) about the Body Kits for the E90.

Well, hopefully i should be get my car soon and i am looking to purchase the M Body Kit (or is it the AERO kit) for my E90. After some reading, there seems to be 2 different? E90 Body kits from BMW ?

I am not sure if i misread anything (or me being stupid ... hopfully not this one), but it seems like there is the "AERO Kit Package" and the "M-kit Package" for the E90. Am I correct?

Coz i was looking through the BMW accessories catalogue for the E90 (yr2007), and I find the bodykit for the E90 looking quite nicely. So I am interested to order it, but I wanted to make sure if its the "M-Body Kit" that i am looking at or its the "AERO Kit" ?

So after the reading, it seems (from my understanding) the M-Body kit would be actual replacements of the Full Front+Rear bumpers and adding Side Skirts, and the Aero kit would be just add-on Front+Rear Lip and Side skirts? (yeah i sound confusing, coz i am confused lol)

Would someone care to explain it in a simpler term for me, please?

Thanks guys for all the help !

from what i know is that the E90 you have to replace the existing kit. The add-ons are for the E92. maybe someone else can edit? what i said is for the US, don't know about HK though

Well the kits ( i think ) would be the same thing in HK compared to US/CAN.

Still, I would want to know if its AERO Kit or the M-Tech Kit for the E90. I am quite confused lol.

And i think i confused the Sales guy too lol.

The Aero is only available for the E92.. The M-Tech is for the E90.

You can get a similar appearance to the Aero if you get the M-Tech and add on the CF Splitters.. Without them the two kits aren't really similar IMO

Jimrawr is correct. the Aero kit is only for E92. There's no Aero kit for E90. There's only M-tech kit for E90.

Here's the breakdown of the available OEM 'aftermarket' cosmetic add-on/replacements:

1) for the stock car, there's the carbon fibre splitters that can be added to the lower front facia of the car, one on each side.

2) if you opt for the M-tech kit, it includes the full frontal replacement bumper (including new fog light housing), replacement side skirts, and replacement rear bumper (which includes the OEM matte black air diffuser)

3) now, if you've got the M-tech kit installed on your car (which is an factory option for many countries, not sure about HK, but it definitely is not an option right now in North America), you can add more personalization to it. There's the OEM carbon fibre air splitters for the M-tech front bumper, as well as OEM carbon fibre air diffuser for the rear bumper.

pictures of OEM M-tech kit (front, side and back)

Your eyes are not deceiving you; the Mtech side skirts are not that much different than the OEM base one.

CF rear diffuser for the m-tech bumper, the CF rear diffuser is the same shape as the regular matte black rear diffuser (part of the Mtech kit), just that it's made in CF

Thanks so much, "canucklion". You have been of great help , and GREAT PICTURES too THANKS !

So now after your clear explaination, i am thinking of the M-tech kit [full frontal replacement bumper, replacement side skirts, and full replacement rear bumper] with CF splitter in the front and CF diffuser in the rear.

[*Also the Sales guy told me that there is a CF side mirror replacement, so maybe this too]

Regarding the CF Rear Diffuser for the M-Tech kit, does it Replace the "OEM matte black air diffuser" thats included into replacement of the Rear bumper or does it go on top of it?

Thanks again for that great reply "canucklion" !

Yes, CF diffuser replaces the matte black diffuser.
