MB sucks...sorry to say, but they do. Their quality is suspect and the designs are now getting a little sugar coated...AMG is a suckers M-Car...

I'd rather drive a BMW V10...but to each, his own...

From what I know is that MB is letting the AMG division to make its own engines just like the M... Yea I really have questions about their design these days. I used to have a C230 coupe so I know how 'suck' are they. haha... panoramic roof has been fixing for the last 5 years, alternator just replaced, the auto function for the AC doesn't work, and some electrical work too.

But man, we have been jumping on and off MB and BMW boat all the time. Our family used to have a E36 318 and E39 528. That 528 decided to have a clog in the exhaust one day and my dad ditch it since then...

I think from a quality perspective BMW and MB are taking different roads and have been far apart since the Daimler-Chrysler merger and all...I just don't see MB making any waves in the luxury market...they are cruising on name re-cog alone right now...the CLS 4-door coupe setup did a lot for them in the past 1-2yrs but they've got nothing past the AMG cars in regards to anything a true enthusiast would buy...

If you have 40-100K and are older, want a poshy car for the country club, your real estate meetings, or now that your kids are out of college...you get an MB and putter around like the other aging suckers out there...

If you want an enthusiasts car, you can get a BMW 3-series or up and really be a part of a car culture...if you are even more serious, you get an M-car, or settle for an AMG car...but either way BMW leads, MB follows...

AMG is more like $180k.

I think MB is an innovator in all respects, if you want to know what a Honda Civic will have as standard equipment 15 years from now, just look at a MB. This has not changed much IMO.

I do agree with the 911 choice for going fast, but I want to have a cruiser too, I can dream can't I?

just own both brand of cars and you can tell the diff. Still both great cars -- just depend on personal experience. Everyone has its own opinion and what not but I personally can say both brands have diff feel -- depending on what mood im in that day that's what I will drive.

Here's what i think,

Ultimate Driving Machine = BMW
Ulimate Luxury and Comfort = Mercedes Benz
Ultimate Gizmo/Gadgets = Japanese Cars

European people likes to read manual == Hence Idrive or other gizmos
US = Spoon Fed/don't like to read manual = that is why Japanese cars excel in US Market.

Just my opinion!

Hey guys. I just recieved my invite code last night so almost all the slots are gone, however, I did get to snag autocross 6/29 at 5:30, and UD in the 328xi and x3 prior to autocross. Hopefully I'll run into some MD e90 posters!!
