Thanks. I kinda copyed the specs from you. Today i also had first air suspension failure. I was waiting to go basic service at local BMW dealer. Suddenly heard POKS sound and then some hissing sound. Looked the car and it slowly went down. It took awhile to locate the problem, but turned out that the air line from tank to VU4 valve block in my trunk had 2cm long crack. No idea why it broke down as only thing it can rub is the soft trunk liner, so i'm thinking some defect in the line itself. Have to say that BMW was nice to loan me a car (Dacia Doccer) and mechanic loaned me some tools, so i could get it fixed. Luckily it didn't happen when i was driving that could have been interesting or better to say disaster.

Funny thing was that the new blue-line failed again next day. Well i figured it out why. The line i had was rated about 290psi, but at 30C temperature it only can handle about 160psi and my system runs 175psi. It has been hot here for couple days and it's even hotter inside the trunk, so the heat softened the line and it failed. This black-line that is used to replace the blue, is also rated about 290psi, but in 30C temperature it can handle like 725psi. This one is meant to use at truck brake-lines. If that's not enough there is also Teflon-line which can handle a lot more, when it's hot.

Also just a heads up if you leave the car in the hot/ sunshine for long time i would recommend emptying some air out from the tank and maybe from bags too, because if it isn't full from the start the pressure has room to grow inside the system and the pressure wont rise so high. Hope you did understand what i mean.

Wow what a stunning car! I'm looking to put my 2007 e91 on HP Drivetech air ride next month. The plan was to run x5 wheels (5 spoke which I think are called 321?). 19x9.5 and 19x10. Which spacers and tyre sizes your you recommend mate to get them to tuck and no rubbing. Thanks in advance, Paul

Thanks. Which wheels do you mean http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/? Style321 isn't 5-spoke wheel. Until i know the exact specs can't really help. Also are you willing to roll your fenders?

Thanks for the reply. It's 132's sorry (cool link thanks) they are et45 and et48 19x9 and 19x10 I think. Would like to avoid rolling anything to start with but could eventually no problem. Thanks

Well something like 15mm front and 18mm rear spacers shouldn't require any work and i would probably go with 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 tyres just because you get some stretch and then later if you feel like you can change to thicker spacers and do fender roll if you need. Don't go less than 15mm at front since the front bags starts to be close to wheel at inside.

Also i hope you get your suspension from HP Drivetech without any kinda hassle. I waited my setup for about 5 months and in that time got tons of empty promises from them. It was the same with the TUV documents, but those took over a year to get.

Brilliant thanks for that info. Very much appreciated. It's funny you said that as I heard about the lead times. My other option is the kit by air lift which seems to have more adjustment. How has yours been and which kit would you say was best. The drive techs or the airlift? Thanks Paul

I have no complaints about the HP drivetech parts quality. Those have been holding fine for a year now. They use Bilstein shocks. My setup is with the basic shocks, but they do make set with Bilstein coilover shocks. Only down side is that my setup don't have adjustable camber plates at front. Main reason to me was that HP drivetech offered TUV documents which i need so i can get the suspension marked to my registration.

Yeah or you could also do 235/35/19 and 265/30/19.

Thanks, guessing the bigger of the two will offer a better ride but less clearance when aired out?

It's less stretched which means less clearance. Don't really know if it makes the ride any better. This is nice example of 19x9 et24, 19x10 et24 setup with 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 tyres.http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=689691

Thanks bud, was reading on here that the airlift struts may struggle to get the lip sitting on the fender with these e9x's. Surely that's just if your running 18". Sorry you may or may not know if that's the case but thought I would ask haha

Yeah i have no idea. With HP drivetech i can get fender to wheel lip fitment with both 18 and 19 inch wheels.

True i kinda wish that i would have skipped some steps to save money and time, but on the other hand at least i'm not bored at the car yet.

Work in progress:

10mm spacer to rear as soon as i get my fenders rolled.
M-sport rear with Carbon fiber LCI diffuser.
Custom made CSL trunk.
M-sport gear knob.

What kind of muffler is that and is this a square setup

Sorry it took time to answer. I don't read this forum that much anymore since currently drive Audi. It's stock muffler with welded exhaust tip from ebay. Wheels are 18x9.5 et35 front and 18x9.5 et22 rear with 235/40/18 tyres. Just take note that front offset is too high with coilovers it would hit inside. With those stock shocks and lowering springs it had 1-2mm gap between wheel and shocks.
