Anyone with 6NR start production yet?

Wondering if anyone has an order with 6NR and has either started production or has a production date.

Thanks!

Have a week 10 with the option, but would be no production with 6NR before week 9 as announced.

Thanks. Did you know you had a week 10 production when you ordered or did you find out via the 800 number?

You still haven't found out your production week yet?! What's your CA saying?

Your CA is the only one who can tell you, hopefully before or at the time you gave them a deposit or committed. They have an allocation slot they either change or add - all of which have a production week.

I am in a week 8 production. I could move it to a week 15 for the 6NR. I am just not sure if its worth it.

Listening to Pandora radio through the Harmon Karmon stereo is tempting though....hmmm just one more thing to over analyze...

If you have an iPhone I'd really think about it. The framework will be in place for a ton more than just Pandora. Even the base app that shows you your fuel, send maps to your nav (ConnectedDrive sans 6NR may do this too). IMO this pretty damn cool.

In my case it will change the way the car integrates with the technology I use today (Bing/google maps, Internet radio, app store, iPod music interface ect).

Can't you already stream Pandora (or whatever your iphone is outputting) through bluetooth if you have combox? You should already be able to send google maps addresses to your car. I could live without the twitter/facebook integration (obviously), but the iphone menu on the idrive screen looks really cool, since the idrive gui is not that good.

This is true. Let's remember just how cool the car is with or without the apps. :-)

Don't get me wrong -- I'd love to get 6NR, but my car was Feb-production. The added cost of having to buy a snap-in adapter for my iphone was a real turn-off too, especially since I get a new one every year (work). I'm excited for everyone who is getting it!

My CA told me the option will also work with the iPod adaptor and the smartphone integration isn't needed. His words not mine

I hope he's right -- though the bmw literature that's been going around specified that smartphone integration would be required.

I was totally off with that google maps comment. The car has had that feature for a while! My bad.

I hope you can use it without the integration too. I highly doubt that the snap-in integration will work with a case or cover on the phone and taking it off every time would be a pain.

Does anyone know of wiring diagrams for the existing integration kit?

The March Production Changes bulletin suggests otherwise:

"Please be advised that adding option 6NR to any vehicle will automatically add Smartphone Integration (6NF) without an additional charge."

If the Apps option worked with 6FL why not bundle it with 6FL rather than 6NF?

That same bulletin also notes that for two of three initial features of 6NR being highlighted, "requires nap in adaptor", meaning what 6NF provided the baseplate for.

First production week would be week 9. That option list will change - it will end up being $250 for 6NR which will include the old 6NF. On the order now it may still show 6NF, but by production in March it appears it will just show 6NR with $250 option charge.

As long as I get the options, it does not matter on the price since I have a signed contract with the price I listed above.

Week 9 started on on Monday. Someone somewhere has to have had a car start production with 6NR today! :-)
