Audio wiring advice

Right guys so I'll explain my current setup and you can tell me where I've gone wrong or options on going forward.

I have MB quarts in the front end so 2 way components 2 x 4" in the doors and 2 x tweeters. 2 x 8" under seat subs.

They are all amp'd by a 4 channel alpine amp that was installed by an installer so he has run cables from the front to the amp to give it the input then run cables back to power the speakers. Channel 1/2 are the components and 3/4 are the under seat subs.

I fitted a mono block amp yesterday and to give it the input I added a second set of cables into the output of channels 3/4 so one set run to the under seat subs and the other runs into a cache audio cloc+d which has phonos that run to the mono block amp. The amp turns on eventually has some bloody power on delay but the signal is not enough despite going through a line driver/line out converter. So basically the sub input is way under powered.

I've just had a moment after writing out the above. Where I spliced into the output section of channels 3/4 I'm thinking I should have taken my signal from the high level input to the amp rather than a second high level from the output of the 4 channel amp.
