You also need the proper offset and centre bore size. Best place to go is a tire dealer where they can look it up and get the right ones for you. If you have sport package you may need 17".

With sport package you can only use alloys 17" and up because of the large brake calipers and the offset. Even 17" steelies from E46 won't fit because of different offset. Look up Tire Rack web site for some decent packages. Expect to spend $300 - $500 per corner.

halB, thanks for the advice. i went to tirerack.com and chose 328i with sport and they returned me 16" as the "recommended" set... the tire size matches my e46 winters (205/55RH16).. i'm confused now haha, does it fit or is tirerack smoking crack?

My bad! The 328i does accept 16" and BMW actually offers a winter package with steel rims. So you can actually use your existing winter tires.

As for wheels, for just around $100 USD a piece plus shipping from Tire Rack it costs about the same as buying steel rims and hubcaps locally, and it looks a lot better. OEM BMW steelies and hupcaps actually cost you more.

In terms of fitment you can rest assure that Tire Rack will only sell you what fits. They will call you to verify everything and double check for fitment before they ship. That takes the guess work out of it completely.

This myth seems to live on. There is no difference btw SP and non-SP equipped cars when it comes to front brake size.

Diameter of front rotors (in mm) is as follows:
323/5/8: 300
330: 330
335: 348

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for setting the record straight. It's the 335i that needs minimum 17" wheels and E46 wheel won't fit it without proper spacers.
