Help Clarify Delphi Ignition Coil Part#

Hello All,

I have an E90 328i N51. I need to replace my ignition coil. After hours of research I never got a clear answer for N51/N52 and ended up with a headache. Here are the two part numbers I am looking at.

Delphi GN10328 for N54 (has issue with the rubber boot)
Delphi GN10571 for N55 (now standard for all BMW engines???)

I came across this thread. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...1097849&page=2

To my understanding I can use Delphi GN10571 for my N51. Thanks for the help!

I'm fairly certain BMW recommends replacing with Bosch coils, which is what they should have been from factory

Bosch used to be factory coils but due to QC they changed them over to Delphi. Realoem has Delphi as the ingition coil http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=12_1417 they list Delphi as OEM

Get what RealOEM lists. Something like an ignition coil isn't going to do much in terms of improving how you car drives. Similar to spark plugs, everybody here runs different plugs - the constant is that the plugs were all made for cars they're being used in. It's the same for the coils. It RealOEM says Delphi, go buy that one and if you can't you might have to look at Bosch.

After searching for a while longer I came across a few site that reference the oem#:12138616153 and crossed referenced GN10571-12B1. It looks like I will be buying GN10571. Hope this helps anyone else that is looking for ignition coils
