Think you're gonna need to go to the back of the HU...

HIt send too soon - there is a wire back there that is used to power the antenna amp and also to act as an RTO for the HiFi analog amp when present, but if you are lacking the HiFi amp, it isn't in the trunk.

There might be, but I've never done it halfway, since there's a wire that works like remote turn on, why not use it?

I'm installing an aftermarket amp, and need to find a source to tap into to use as the remote lead, preferably thats already in the boot.

I don't have the logic 7 system, or cd changer, or factory amp, just the bog standard stereo.

I don't want to use a signal sensing device, for a variety of reasons, would just rather use a proper power source.

So, does anyone know what I can use for this?

I had the plug for the cd changer, but what looks like the only power cable seems to be powered on all the time?!

I tried to use the power in the rear of the centre arm rest, but this didnt behave how I wanted it (I want the power to come on whenever the key is in, this only came on when the car was started).

Thanks in advance,
Pin 13 in the back of the OEM HU/iDrive.

At this point, you should grab a DMM to make sure you have the right wire.

I had mentioned pin #10 in another thread in reference only to the OEM amp connector for the HI-FI system.
