330D LCI (N57) EGR cleaning HELP!

Hi Guys

I did a search for this info but only brought up a couple of pictures of where the EGR is, but I already know that....

I'm throwing a couple of codes for my EGR sticking and staying in the wrong position. I'm no stranger to removing an EGR and giving it a good clean however, the EGR on the N57 has a cooler (is this liquid or air btw?!) and the 2 pipes attached making it rather difficult to remove. I managed to pull the valve out a couple of inches before the pipes are an issue.

So, my question is: can I just disconnect the cooler pipes, unplug and remove to clean or are there any other methods to removing the EGR for cleaning?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Liquid cooled. Sorry not to be of any help but I can tell you is that my local garage had to change the cooling fluid after cleaning the EGR valve.

It's just normal coolant. Replace the little dick plastic pipes that join to the head.
