Mine went 170,000 miles before I replaced it (it was still working when I did the replacement). Of course the only folks that report to the site are those that have failures. I think the reality is that while some fail prematurely most don't. Happy to hear the OP got it covered under CPO though

lol. Not *quite* as lucky, but on a road trip to Boston I had my HPFP go out right at exit 148 on the NJTP. Pulled over in limp mode and looked up BMW dealers in the NAV. Bloomington BMW was within 1000 ft. Took the exit and coasted into the dealership lot.
Yep, I would say pretty damn lucky too

Mine went out at 54000 miles. Super fast fan no limo mode since I was parking my car. Had it towed and dealer fixed for 1000 with thermostat. Kind of sucked but I knew it was bound to happen.

Mine just went last night at 71,000 miles. No warning at all. Driving down the highway, Yellow light lit up then immediately after that the Red lit up. Pulled over as soon as possible and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Popped the hood found coolant everywhere in the engine bay and the fan was spinning uncontrollably fast. Turned it on drove it about 1/8 of a mile and the Yellow light lit back up again. I pulled over, shut the car off and got it towed home. Still waiting to get it to the shop, hopefully it is covered under warranty.

Well, mine just died yesterday at 145k miles, guess it's about time...sure it's expensive to repair over $1k at indie shop

One of the service advisers told me they see way way more HPFP issues than they do water pumps or turbos
