Dinan Intake

Check out the site, all it is, is new tubing, and changed the stock intake tubing design i dont even beleive there is a new intake, so no sound change, and all that for about 5-7 hp??? for 500.i would buy if it had a new intake, but its just tubing, i have not seen pics yet, but i dont know how can they justify that price.

well, first, they get this big machine that runs on lasers... then they get some new metal for an intake tube... then they cut it and bend it the right way... so far, it costs you about $9. then that machine with the lasers cuts the word "DINAN" in the tube.... current cost: $489. Then they package it, with the word DINAN on the outside of the box... End cost: $500.

I had to read that several times to make sure I was getting it correctly. I cant believe they didn't event make a new airbox even if it was virtually the same as stock you would think they would want to stamp their emblem on the top like they did on the e46...

yyyup.

It's mind boggling what people will pay for a name...
My car: sticker price $45,000.
Bentley Continental GT: Base price $164,000.

Do YOU think the Continental is worth 3.5 of my BMW?

It's ridiculous!

Reading more on the website, it sounds like they give you a new bottom half of the airbox, a silicon hose to attach to it and an aluminum piece to mount down in the bumper.

Sadly for $499, compared to something like the GruppeM that isn't half bad.

That doesn't excuse that it's about $50 in parts though.

And if I'm gonna get raped, I at least want a new box cover with "Dinan" stamped on it. Sheesh, give me something at least.

Wonder if it keeps the charcoal filter in place?

Please post pics and give us an unbiased opinion. At $499, I'm seriously thinking of doing it. Glad that you're trying it. Let us know!!!

once i get it i'll let you guys know. the guy at the dealer said it should come in 3 to 7 days and then i gotta make an appointment to have them install it too. I hope i can get it put on by tuesday next week. and it is not only $499, the total with installation is $780, cause there is tax on the intake itself and they are charging 240 something for installation.

i'll can take the pics of the car after it is installed because they have to install it if i still want the warrenty. the guy there said it should be easy to install and i can do it myself but if i do it myself i will void the warrenty vs. if they do it the warrenty is still good. so i rather pay.
