Hartge Reps Question

I recently purchased a set of Hartge Reps from Mike at **********s. Overall, I'm delighted with the quality of the rims and how they look on the car, however I have one technical question that I'm hoping someone can answer.

Around the edge of the rim, there are several small chrome bolts. Upon close inspection, one or two of these stick out and don't sit flush. I tried tightening them with a Torx wrench, but had no luck. It seemed like the bolts were too big for the size 40 and too small for a 45.

Can anyone tell me what tool I need to use to fix this issue, or are the bolts non adjustable in which case I need to get Mike to send me a new wheel?

I've attached a pic to illustrate...

Thanks,
Matt.

Matt,

I'm not sure because your wheel is a one piece design, but you should be able to screw the bolt(s) in further. Maybe there is a special torx-type driver used for wheel rivits?

I would ask Mike at Modbargins if they can be tightened or maybe exchange the rim in question(PIA, I know!).

Good Luck!
Danny

For the most part, those rivets are all show, and are mostlikely plastic. If they are in fact plastic, then they are just wedged in, so just tap them in.

Awesome. I tapped it and it works. They are in fact "all show". I also get Gideon at Velocity Motoring (the manufacturer) to send me some replacement rivets in case one comes loose down the road.

Great wheels - I love them !!!
