You only use the two files:
1. Firmware file.
2. Excel document.

The only file required for code reading is to upgrade the firmware.
The attached Excel file will help explain the code triggered in Decimal format for identification with the Procede Reader.
All other attachments are garbage and not used.

That's the key. You have to go easy on the throttle if you want to get the highest possible mpg. This is especially true now that the new canbus maps run richer under boost. Even a few on boost pulls is going to take a toll in your average mpg.

Out of all the gauges on my console, the fuel gauge is the one I care about least

Yep...I used to leave the range up on the digital display but now I turned the M3 style speed display on so I don't even need to see that

thought the fuel gauge was there to remind you to put fuel in the car, how you spend the fuel is for you and your right foot to decide.

10 739 = 0x29F3

You can Google "n in hex".

you might want to just email shiv directly about that...

Shiv
There are people who are capable of keeping their cruise control at 55-60mph?

Shiv,

This statement was made in N54tech.com:

Actually, when you set off a detection code the ECU goes in to a reduced boost mode. That mode is in effect even after clearing the code, until you restart the car. So creating codes and then deleting them will have a real performance drawback if you are kicking the ECU in to low boost mode all the time!

Can you comment on this?

Thanks

I don't even know what that means. Assuming arguendo that performance drawback exists, does it mean:

1. performance drawback while in low boost mode only; or

2. incremental performance drawback each time low boost mode initiates;

If 1, who cares?

If 2, is it permanent or does the ECU simply readapt after a couple of pulls? If its temporary, who cares?

Ridiculous comment. But then again, can we expect anything less from the source? Just as ridiculous as his statements about the dangerous effects of eliminating unwanted throttle closure, lagfix, timing control, fuel pressure control, PID boost control, etc,.
