Mate, can't reccommend Dysons enough, had 2 in last 12 years, they just last and last and we sold our first (still working) DC04 on eBay for hundred quid.

Dc25 only a couple of tanks of petrol for you, so should be a no brainer cost wise http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dyson-Lightw...5623648&sr=1-1

If you want to pop over and have a test drive, you are more than welcome

Must admit that's one I'm starting to focus in on (from Dixons with 3% cashback ).

I've got a better idea, maybe you could send Sarah over to mine, with said vacuum, to give a proper demonstration. Tell her to bring a duster too .

Sweet Baby Jesus, this is getting complicated, I'm now completely torn between a Dyson and a Sebo. TOO MUCH INFORMATION. I feel a trip to Currys/John Lewis coming on...

Dysons come with a 5 year warranty

Subos do seem reliable, but they have a bag though yeah.....that would be a no for me (1980's tech)

I have the Vax Power 6, it had the high air watt rating out of all the hovers, beating Dysons (they are susposedly more efficent so dont need to 'suck' as much..) paid about £120 but I've seen it online for £75 https://www.pricelover.com/product/2...pright/U90P6C/ could be considered as a little on the heavy side my your other halfs but its nothing daft.

It's hilarious really isn't it .

Just got back from Comet & John Lewis and here's my thoughts...

Dyson DC33 (£190 best) - the mother of them all, most powerful, but big & heavy, old school wheels so less manoeuvrable if you beleive the hype (1,300 watts/7.88kg)
Dyson DC25 (£217 best) - half-way house, pretty powerful, medium size, ball style but this makes it feel flimsy IMO (1,200 watts/7.45kg)
Dyson DC24 (£194 best) - super compact, perfect size, but half the power of the others, ball so flimsy feel to it (650 watts/5.4kg)
Sebo X4 Extra (£224 best) - traditional vacuum, with bag (big deal!), auto brush up/down for hard floors/carpet (1,300 watts/7.3kg)

The Dysons do feel pretty plasticy and flimsy (bar the DC33) but there's something drawing me in though I think maybe the Sebo is the wisest choice but at £225 it's a lot of cash on a sodding hoover (oh, just found it for £211) - both have 5 year guarantee.

I've had my Dyson for nearly 5 years (DC15) & it's still going strong.

I like the ball as well, although TBH I don't do much hoovering myself

Rog - had our X4 Extra for four years with no issues.

Our cleaner's husbands is a professional carpet cleaner and uses one for some of his work.

I prefer a bag - you just whip it out and sling it rather than inhaling clouds of dust and you try and empty a Dyson into the bin.

Sebo are a bit like BMW - well made, not too OTT.
Dyson are a bit like Alfa - very showy, not very reliable, a common site at your local tip.

Dysons die very quickly - if you actually use it................!

We have had Bissells for the last few - reasonably priced and work very well

Roger, only you could write up a review of vacuum cleaners

We all do seem pretty passionate about our preference though!
