We really don't have to worry about breaking anything with 400whp, honestly. Doesn't anyone remember Mitsubishi eclipses running 350fwhp with a stock tranny, and those nasty Supra TT's running over 500rwhp on stock tranny, or the sikko 300zxTT's with 400rwhp and stock tranny (had one personally). Once 400whp comes up, the only real possible concern comes from the clutch, and that just has to be proven, BIG DEAL. Our internals, drivetrains, and what-have-you can take it; it's just a matter if your wallet can when your warranty is voided.
FLAME SUIT ON $.02
Mad props to Vishnu for advancing the N54 to these remarkable levels. That said, personally, I am still going to have to wait for the warrantied tuners (DINAN/BMW performance) to step into the game. I do not have the time or money to waste on any issues that may arise from an outside tuner. If my car goes bust from an aftermarket something-or-other, who will give me a car to drive to get to work? Furthermore, who will pay for a new engine/turbo's/drivetrain or anything else for that matter? Nevertheless, this is some of the most fun I've had on the internet EVER! 400+rwhp is astounding from our lil' tt's, but there's bound to be more-to-come (ie 480hp out of a 3.8 liter V6 GT-R).
Let's see Vishnu get into one of those, hell yeah!

may be easier for us if they shipped the V2 harnesses with an extra 4-5 wire looms for future upgrades/updates , they are going to explore every single corner, and may need to intercept some other wires, it will saves us SOME time and some shipping money; just MO

Once again I will repeat what I said earlier

400WHP= A possibility of something breaking (please don't compare the 335i with other Evo's or 300z's because they are built by mitsubishi, also those 300z's had many issues with the increased power, plus these turbos are not popularly used throughout the turbo induction world, considering how tiny they are and EVO's do not run these turbos)

These are great numbers but nothing has been proven yet. Like Vishnu said it has been only 5 weeks of driving this car this way and I am guessing you do not drive on 98 octane 24/7 with this car especially with you using it as a loaner for clients………………

Everyone seems to jump on the band wagon to throw on a full exhaust system with down pipe and take out all of your cats and run a stage 2 tune with probably a race gas map, you need to comprehend that until I see this car ran for at LEAST 6 months, I will not believe that this car will blow something possibly (especially pushing the extreme limits day in and day out)

Also all of you guys with the AUTOMATIC transmissions, I would seriously hold your horses before slapping on every performance mod known to man kind onto this car just because he has broken the 400whp level, which I may add I am very happy about and must say congratualtions, wait for true longer term R&D before pushing these limits (my personal guess along with a few other well known tuner companies ICSPERFORMANCE) was predicting a lil bit over 400whp, maybe say ~415whp was the limit for this engine in the long term wear and tear as a daily driver and definitely taking a tole on the AUTOMATIC transmissions.

Flame suit on for everyone that is gung ho about making their car into a 400+whp car asap………………………………

(im talking about mainly the long run of this car not the immediate result of after 5 weeks of driving)

Again congratualtions, AND I WOULD PREFER TO BE PROVEN WRONG AND THIS CAR BEING CAPABLE OF HANDLING WELL OVER 500WHP IN THE LONG RUN!!!!!!

Wow this is amazing. My only wonder if the cars can hold up over a long period. If so, I'm in!

are you serious n kidding me? Vishnu tunner is very conversative already.. it took them about 1 years to achieve 400 hp and 400 lb torque without any drivebility issue. Vishnu already calculate how much power can be pump without causing stress to the powertrain. Dinan or bmw performance tunning the 335i will cost you the whole body and very deep pocket. First of all, They are very conversative tunner because the dont want to anything drastic change on any bmw car. DInan do aware 335i driver will stress out their car (trans (clutch) or TCC) by racing if tunning it to it max power. Dinan so far ecm reflash @ 40 more whp from the baseline. 2nd , BMW preformance dont want to tune it to the max power without stressing out trans (clutch) and TCC. BMW does not want to tune 335i to max because the 2008 Bmw m3 .. Remember M3 e92 is about 420 at the fly wheel (advertise). They want to distance 335i and m3 apart because profit margin. They make more money on m3 e92 than 335i. I have spoken to one of the Germany engierring (excuse me for the spelling) while i was at the irwingdale speedway. He said BMW will release 340 hp 335i. i asked him when do you think they will release the new generation 335i. He said maybe 2009. He told me he does not know for sure. he also told me that bmw will not do anything to 335i until the m3 e92 come out.. How many are they will be in production. How much profit margin on e92 m3. One year after the release of m3 e92, they will probably release the new 335i to completiting with audi and Mercedez benz. BMW mainly focus on AUDI not as much on Mercedez benz.

*****ed335BMW, I agree with you 100%!!

I cant even think about driving this car with that much power. Even with just Xede I have traction issues and i have 275s in the rear!! Granted the tires arent all that great.........

I'd have to get an LSD before wanting this type of power. Then again I dont plan to increase the power by much till i see more miles on modded N54s. Im too chicken to be the guinea pig.

But i do LOVE watching all this unfold.

Don't make my post misleading, I am willing to run those power limits but not until they are ran on a car for a minimum of 6 months to a year

DUde u need to focus on Upgrade yor FMIC first than. getting FMIC .. MOre Power = Increase heat = more wear on the engine n engine part. LSD is for traction.. ANd you might add cold SPark plug

This is very impressive, 400whp is probably more whp the stage 3 turbo upgrade for the Audi B5 S4 2.7....

I believe APR quotes 450 crank hp for that kit, which includes all kinds of hardware, fuel pump, injectors, turbos etc...

Even more amazing is, all we need to reach similar power levels for the 335 is a piggyback and harness, oh yeah and software.

Probably if the s4 is on 91 octane.

I have friends that have tweaked stage 3 s4's that run 475+ awhp.

Right but like mentioned im having issues with traction with just Xede.

Have we see any logs for this engine on how much heat is producing with just Xede or Procede 1.47? Didnt think they even had issues with heatsoak with the power these are making. Im sure the stock intercooler can handle just that, no?

Which is why im focusing on getting an LSD before upgrading the intercooler. Then i would get the intercooler and THEN think about getting v2.

Did I say "tweaked stage 3"??? I was referring to the stage 3 kit on APR's website.

The fact remains we get stage 3 performance for much less work and money
