i am an NHL season-ticket holder (no applause necessary) and for the product they put out there night after night, they should be paying me.

MLB prices are still 'not that bad' but are getting there. This used to be affordable for Joe Public and his kids, but now it is a wealthy mans' game for almost all sports.

NBA is the worst league ever and I wouldn't pay $.05 cents to see a bunch over INSANELY over-paid thugs run around for 60 minutes. I cannot believe people still follow the NBA.

Now the NFL tickets prices are WAY OUT OF CONTROL. I wouldn't pay for an NFL game even if they were half the price. The parking is nuts, they cram way too many people in a stadium, and the corporate controls on teams now are crazy...

I don't even pay for NFL Sunday ticket anymore, b/c I just never seem to get my money out of it...I'd rather be out driving than sitting on my large ass watching other large men bore the crap out of me...that's why they invented SportsCenter and ESPN News...to see highlights...

The MLB still puts out a good, mostly competitive product but maybe I am biased as a Red Sox fan. MLB extra innings is worth the money, and the MLB coverage on ESPN is good...plus there are two MLB franchises near me and I can usually go see a good matchup or my own team pretty often thanks to the number of divisional games...

I think the NFL needs to play more games, like 2 per week...and up the season to like 24 games...so what if it is physical and demanding and there are lots of injuries...drama and perseverance is what the sport is really about.

the NHL plays 82 games, many times back-to-back nights...and it is just as physical, demanding, and injury-laden as the NFL...I guess I am just partial to hockey b/c I play...and I like the pace and speed of the sport...

bottom-line is that in 10 years the American public will NOT go to the movies, everything will be on-demand, and the major sports will have to do more and get more competitive on prices to keep paying customers and fans happy...there will be more entertainment options, right at your finger-tips and the 'reality' sports world will have to cope with on-demand TV networks, on-demand current-release movies, and fast modes of communications...

But seriously, he thinks I have something that I need to urgently address so I need to avoid all manners of strenous and stressful activities (something I've been doing half my life ) until I get it fully checked up and tended.

Serious answer: Hope it's nothing and the doctor is just being prudent and cautious. Sounds like a good reason to lie in a hammock all weekend.

Fun answer: Tell your wife if she needs someone who CAN handle strenuous situations, to give me a call.

.... she has the number.

Maybe, but people were saying that a decade ago too. I rarely go to a theatre to see a movie. And it's a shame because I used to love going to the movies. Now, you're in a small concrete bunker in a mall with the sounds of the explosions from the latest Die Hard XXII playing next door coming through the walls, people who have no clue how to behave in public talking and kicking seats, popcorn that is more expensive than filet mignon....

I hear you. I love going to the movies too, but the people, the prices, and the rudeness....makes it better on the sofa at home in front of a nice 55in TV

Was meant as a joke, and hopefully would be recieved that way. If you know KLDC and feel this would not make him smile, let me know and I'll pull it. Seriously!

Whew... Scottz had me worried that I went over the line again!! I was ready to delete it just in case.

Laughter is sill the best medicine. But the serious answer is the real one. Relax this weekend and don't frett. Just to be on the safe side, I'll say a "God bless KL2DC" in the list at bedtime. I just hope He knows you by that name...
