Using swift springs for megan racing coilovers
I want to use progressive swift springs with my megan racing coilover shocks. Is that a good or bad idea? And what spring rate should I look at?

Why progressive rate?
Get the correct inside diameter for your shock bodies, and choose rates that the manufacturer states are within the damping range of the shocks (ask them). Your front to rear rate ratio should be between 1:3 and 1:2. I'm running 392/800 but I track. I think a great street setup (if the shocks can handle it) would be ~350/750 or whatever is closest. hmmm... ok I thought progressive springs will be softer on straight line and same as linear on turns.
So would it be better to change the shocks and springs both together than mix like that?

Better? - probably easier to dial in.
Necessary? - depends on whether the shocks' adjustment range can handle the rates you want to throw at them. In what way are you dissatisfied with the current setup? Said another way, what are you trying to achieve that you cannot now? |

if you are looking for a little more comfort, you can try a dual spring setup, and install a short "tender spring" in line with your coil over spring. it will help over the smaller bumps, and on bigger stuff and corners, it will compress flat and let the main spring to the work.
Though choosing spring length and calculating the rate you need can be a bit tricky. so it may be easier to just swap out the main spring. but here is a pic of a coilover that uses dual springs |

Agreed mikey that's an option. But I guess I'd like to hear if the OP maybe just hates the coils. I feel like the damper quality would have more to do with comfort issues than spring rate selection or quality.
But if OP says he just doesn't like the front to rear motion ratios, then yeah, a spring swap could make sense. |

Yea I feel like the bounce or compression is not consistent. And I would want the ride to be softer when going straight but still keep it tight on turns. I'm considering either changing my setup or keeping the shocks and swapping to progressive springs but I'm not sure.

I would say less then $2k for budget. I kind of wish I went with either KW V2 or maybe koni yellow and H&R sports to start with but I wanted to try out this brand. I also have front and rear H&R sway bars and that has improved handling tremendously!

Consider some one way adjustable ground control or tckline koni-based coils... KW is a good consumer product but I prefer the tailor made koni option at a similar price point.
