I was reading the 4 pages of service receipt last night.....3 out of the 4 pages are rubber pads, rubber pads,.......and rubber pads. My 325i must have gained a few pounds!

sunny , see my lines:-

Hi Tony,

thx for yr kindness, pls email yr DR's contact to me.

== sent PM

wow for sure i couldn't resist the temptation of moding my car regardless of what model it is!

=== very good , i am learning how to be an addict of mod , as I never mod any of my cars morte than rims. The only mod of my ex E320 was a set of Bridgestone 03 tires

I have z2, z5,z6,z7,z9 z10, zfx and z16, let me know if you wanta try them all out. oh, btw, i have extra applicators for you too. Not to worry, i have plenty of them. Pls copy & past to have a look at the product info:-
http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

=== I will check . In fact, the same friend who do the audio is also providing waxing service; so if I get the Zaino , I will ask his little shop to apply them for me . He provides special cleaning meaning he also cleans all the rubbers and engine area.

i'd love to meet you friends, perhaps let's find out who'd like to join in addition to the two of us. More people render a bigger discount (i guess).

=== actually i spoke to him once about audio for the e90. His shop is not a good looking shop only one park space. As he is recently received a 300K audio project , so he told me one month he will not have a space in his little shop. Although I never got the chance to try his shop audio; but he will have a sample to show us which is a 300K worth audio installed on his own Chaser. Yes, he is a audiophile and used to work and own hi fi shops. I think we can meet him. Basically he will do whatever you want.

The Caltex Cleanpower is meant to be filled into the fuel tank. When you are almost runs out of oil, pour the entire bottle and then refuel a full tank.

=== i never used these types of stuff so a bit worry about any adverse effect to the engine?

I thought after our last meet you'd post how to re-set the ECU just like what you did to yr MB. i guess it might have to do w/ what i did first 2 months, i deliberatly went to airport nearly once a week

=== do we use same procedure to reset ECU on E90 as the Benz. I heard that the same procedure works on an nissan Altima

i actually ordered the VOLKS Progressiv ME multi-spoke - very light indeed. You can see the real thing in the Speedline shop oppsitive to Lee Mo Tai in causeway bay, they have many BBS too.
The VOLKS Progressiv ME 19" will be ~21000 for 4 customed order from RAYS Japan and will fit E90 perfectly.
(I gave up because the 99B is cheaper and in stock)

Ray, as I have told you last time, my RFT behaves better now...after 15000km for 8 months....still bumpy but not as bad as before...

I know your milage is low/week, so it might takes a long long time. Replace 17" non-RFT is a quick solution. Agreed with t, don't pick the most expensive one.....as your might change to 18" soon

I tried Goodyear RS-02 and Yokohama ES-100 before on my E36, they are both ok and cheap ~800 each I guess now for 225/45/17. (Not sure if it is the old model)

Time for me to consider a change too....15000km la!!
Kelvin,
I had the same concern as yours a couple of months ago but after going through the wheels section and the internet, I offer my "expertise" here.

If you choose a much lighter 18" aftermarket wheels, it'll actually improve the performance (pick up) and save fuel. The magic word is "unsprung weight". It's like in a 100 m sprint race. If you wear a pair of much heavier shoes, you would struggle to get off the block quickly. However, with lighter shoes on, you feel like you're a ballet dancer and run like Carl Lewis (sorry if you don't know this person, my time bracket).

I hope my new found "expertise" is helpful to allay your worries. Since it's newly found, I disclaim any responsibilities for any wrong advice!!!

Hi Ks,

Yes, if you get the lighter wheel, it will help the performance. However, 18" wheel is generally heavy than 16" and 17". if you get the super light weight 18" wheel, it cost very expensive. Correct me if I am wrong!

I second to kc 's suggestion.
My 19" RAYS rims weighted only ~20lbs and feels lighter than the stock 17".
That is why Forged rims cost fortune.

Yes, I know the theory of "unsprung weight". Actaully, our stock 17" wheel is NOT that heavy.

Benchmark for you guys:
Stock 17" Style weights ~ 9.5kg per piece ~ 20lbs (accroding to a member in this forum)

But our 225/45/17 RFT is very very heavy....I tried to take up the whole wheel w/RFT and I need TWO hands to do this.

t, you feel lighter as your non-RFT is lighter.

Ray, do need your feedback to see if you can feel light after replacing the RFT with non-RFT....I will follow if this is the case

Yes, if I can find Forged rim with an afforable price, I will surly go for it...not having too much to spend on cars la!!

I guess the benefit of Forged rims will be more significant on lighter cars with smaller engine such as a Civic or Lotus Elise . The E90 itself is heavy enough and I really not sure lighter rims help a E90 that much in performance. Of course, in theory of "unsprung weight", the engine power is used up to pulll the wheels not to pull the car, so lighter wheels mean a lighter car to pull!

I still see the issues of Forged:-
1. cost too much
2. not easy to polish if scratched
3. limitation of choices
