Any more mods I can do to add more power?

Hey guys, Have I run out of engine mods I can get?

1). JB4
2). ER chargepipe
3). catless DP
4). ER Intercooler
5). Pure Stage 2 Turbo
6). N55 PURE High Flow Inlet Pipe
7). N55 Diverter Upgrade DV(Plus)

I want to stick with pump gas only so methanol and E85 is not an option... I know intake doesn't add a lot of power but i think i will still get one just for the heck of it.

Attached is a JB4 log 3rd gear pull to redline. Can i run a bit more boost?

That is pretty much it for mods if you aren't willing to up the octane of your fuel. A back end flash would help as you are lean in the mid range and rich up top. And yes you should be able to run more boost than 14psi. What octane fuel are you on, 93?

It looks like you would benefit from duty bias tuning at lower rpm. You didn't hit target till 5,200 rpm. I would not run more boost than this on your current octane. If you're not willing to increase the octane you are out of power.

hey gents, thanks for the replies. I figured i am pretty much at the maximum already with the 91 octane E10 fuel that i have access to. What criteria are you basing on when you say i can't run higher boost? is it the timings? Sorry, i am still learning.

My car has a late model N55 thus I can't do a BEF yet. I am very excited for MHD to update their tools to allow flashing on my car but this will have to wait till Q4 of 2017...

I will look into duty bias tuning my car. Hopefully that will allow my car to spool faster.

You should start uploading your logs to datazap. It makes them a lot easier for people to look at.

This year X1 shares the late E and F series HPFP so I don't think he will benefit from the LPFP. IMO it is methanol injection, throttle body injection, or port injection. Race fuel is an option but too expensive to daily.

I wasn't aware they changed the HPFP in the newer N55's, thanks for the info. And I totally agree with meth and TBI but PI seems like a bit much without upgrading turbo and also I imagine the LPFP...

Op says he has the stage 2 turbo. I would and plan to run meth on the X1.

Yeah, i am going to stick with pump gas. I don't want to bother with meth and it's difficult for me to get E85...

There is a shop with a dynojet near me. I heard there are a couple of stock 2011+ 335xi that have consistently put down between 265-280 WHP. How much WHP do you guys reckon I can put down with my mods running 13.5 PSI?

Through an xdrive I would guess 330 to 350whp. It seems like a waste to have a setup capable of 100+ whp more, but you don't want to put meth on to get it.

I would guess 340 - 355 awhp. Methanol would bring you up to 425ish awhp

-No more boost without octane. You are having timing drops across all cyl. Look at your CSV file - timing drop on tip in is normal then you start to recover then you drop again at ~2800 RPM, ~4500 RPM, ~5800 RPM - up and down timing is usually octane.
-I agree duty bias tuning will help boost hit target but you will likely get more timing retard.
-Pretty lean in the mid range.
- Pay attention to your avg IGN - 5.4 - 5.8.
6 is unhappy - that'll drop with octane.
Maybe a pump BEF map will help - I think you can send your ECU in for a bench flash x1 to MHD??

Good luck

I am actually fine with only 360ish WHP as the Porsche Macan turbo with the "performance package" dynos at around the same.

Thanks for the explanation. I am still learning how to read logs. It gets confusing with all the information online. I have actually dialed my boost down to 13PSI just to be safe. In the mean time, I will just have to be patient to wait for MHD to be compatible with 2012+ N55 engines.

They are doing a larger private beta starting today. I would guess an open beta is within a month or so.

I don't have any dyno figures so I cannot say what it would make. This is a 92 octane custom pump tune I had done for me. 18 psi with about 3.5 degrees of timing. We have cleaned up the rich tip in since then. This is the tune I ran 12.6 @112mph.

I completely miss that, sorry. So, you're right, PI should be on top of the list, but OP doesn't seem interested or doesn't have high octane fuel around.

An even bigger turbo. Can't think of much else that would help a whole lot.

Unless you change your mind regarding methanol injection, not much can be done
