Basic Track Day Mods? 2011 335is

I had a 2008 Mustang GT and just sold my 2008 Z06. I tracked both cars and knew the basic upgrades I would need for the track. My question is what are the basic mods needed for a 335is for a track day? My current mods are H&R Sport Springs, 12.5mm hubcentric spacers, and a JB3 running Map 3.

I plan to swap out my fluid for RBF600, which I have run in all my cars with great success.

Are the stock brake lines OK for 3 30-minute sessions? What about engine oil? Anything with a little more anti-wear additives I should run like an Amsoil or Redline? What about the pads and rotors? Can I cook those in a day? Thanks!

Tires for sure

I don't know much about the IS but the 335i brakes suck on the track from what I've been told. BBK is a great upgrade for a track car.

The 335is already comes with an extra radiator and an oil cooler which are fed by the two air dams up front

I was looking for more basic mods. You'd be surprised to find out the level of performance that a car needs to be at to outbrake the OEM brakes (granted if pads, lines, and fluid are swapped)

Garage List
Brake lines would be a good upgrade and cheap. Also cluth delay valve is a must.

Radiator flush then mix distilled water, some radiator fluid and couple bottles of water wetter. Track or semi track brake pads are very important in order to last 30 minutes.

Fedoro DS2500 pads with Z4 35iS rotors would be a nice combo.

Just wondering why you sold the z06?

Brake fade! After a couple laps, your brakes start to get really hot and don't really bite anymore. They can also start juddering, which doesn't give you much confidence taking the turns fast.

Unless you mean drag, different story there.

I never been to a track before and I can't tell you what to bring since I don't know but if I were to go tracking, I would upgrade my rotors and pads for sure. Like the others said, the stock just shits out quickly even daily driving/occasional WOT

OP is talking about a road course and Oem brakes heat up fast making it harder to slow the car each turn.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I will be doing my typical 50/25/25 water-rad fluid-water wetter mix, SS brake lines, ferodo pads, rbf 600 fluid, and the clutch delay valve. A track alignment is in order as well.

For those who don't know, I sold the Z06 and downgraded to pocket the money since I am getting married and looking to buy a house.

tires > oil cooler > shocks

with just springs the car is super bouncy. WHen I take my brothers e90m3 in the canyons with H and R sports I dont feel confident. Full shock spring set up is much more planted

08 Z06 with ported heads, ported intake and tb, cam, full 3" exhaust, corsas, halltech 107r, and Pfadt suspension... DD for 30k miles, tracked 6 times per year and ran 10.97@133mph on street tires and stock clutch... I guess a downgrade is an understatement lol

Shocks would be next in the order for me, but I won't know for sure until I have 2 or 3 track days under my belt. This is a whole new car for me to learn

Might as well go for some coilovers. Not those cheap ones either.

The thing is I don't see myself going as crazy with this car as I did with the vette... Performance mods are a money pit lol. I wouldn't get c/o's because I want a progressive spring rate... Which defeats the entire purpose of going to coilovers lol. Any good shock recommendations? Koni yellows seem like a good choice for all cars, regardless of make/model
