oh just a little stronger tuning on the already maxed out turbos is all you need?

The gains are actually better than we were expecting... 45-50awhp over stock at 6000rpm's is awesome... 30-35awhp gains elsewhere is pretty damn good especially on a mustang dyno. Throw in some race gas or meth and the already transformed car will become just downright retarded. Of course this is just my opinion... I'm very happy with the gains.

And yes I will be going to a dynojet for more comparisons in a few weeks after I get back from a work trip and have my summer wheels/tires back on, I have lots of pulls on a dynojet in the area at all different stages and a baseline. Unfortunately it will be about 30° warmer, but it will still be a good time.

I was skeptical about the gains, but am now totally stoked since this far exceeded my expectations.

Much respect to Tial and to you for being their 'crash test dummy' !!!

Since there are a few people complaining about lack of updates and real info and such, I'll tell you straight up right now that I won't have any more big news for a couple weeks. Work caught up with me and I can't get back on the dyno this week, and then Sunday I leave for CTIA in Vegas (for work) for a week.. so there will finally be a delay in this whole process. Hey at least we got as far as we did!

does anyone know a good shop in socal that might want to do a single turbo setup? because after this summer I'm not going to need my car until next summer(not even driving it now until june-september) so its a long time for them to R&D and make good kit. i want to find a shop thats very knowledgeable and me not having to sell my kidney to get it done.

ship it to CT so EPL can use it, they'd have the kit done sooner than anyone else

Bottom is stock maxed out turbos, top is upgraded turbos with more boost. This gives you an idea of where the gains are. Everything is very preliminary still, more tuning and such will come when I'm back from my trip.. including race gas results etc.

Very exciting. Nice to see EPL is in the North East. Can't wait to see full results and pricing.

hey jp, by any chance do you knwo what EPL's opinions about the potential of our engine? i ask you this because couple years ago people were scared going over 15 psi, now people pushing 17~18psi with meth and n2o. maxing out turbo is one thing but getting close to engine limit is another thing so just wondering...

oh and if you can kinda pm me about rough pricing on what you did or for the single project, i'd appreciate it.

Someone just asked ASR this same question, here was their response:

Quote:
For the HP level we are running the car at, it is not needed. We have over 150 passes on the dyno with our car since the kit was installed, as well as thousands of miles of highway racing and over 10 mile run passes yesterday. The car doesn't show any hints of blow-by or exhaust smoke at all. The plugs also look flawless. The amount of boost we're running is not that much at all considering it's 19.5psi peak and tapers off to 17-18 psi in the programming. The factory pistons and rings are more than capable of supporting those types of boost levels and hp figures.

Great progress so far, I'll be more than happy to push 500 at the wheel safely on my stock motor with these turbo upgrades. Looks like LSD is MUST now Lol

On pump gas I'm guessing we'll be at around ~430-440awhp (on a dynojet), with gobs of torque.

Sick JP, just sick. Nice work Now let's just hope the stock shafts hold up.

Also, any chance you could post a dyno going down to say 1k rpms. I'm curious to see what the low end loss is like with the clipped turbine. I know you said "minimal" but I'm just curious to see what that looks like

Ideally, you shouldn't really be flooring the gas below 1500 RPMs (unless you're in 1st gear, obviously). There's no reason to lug the motor like that (I even remember reading this in a manual for some car... maybe a 911).
