Leave work to find mirror missing
So i get out of work and as im walking to my drive door I come to see that my side view mirror is missing -_-. Someone stole it from the parking garage I was parked in....
Needless to say Im not too happy right now, I just checked online for a replacement and its not cheap! |

Sorry to hear about your situation. Security cameras? Make out a report? Notice any other BMWs in your garage - MISSING a mirror? Assume the car's alarm did not go off? On a positive note, I would be thankful nothing else was missing or vandalized. Semper Fi |

P/N 51167252895 (for LCI E90) about $60. Buy it, snap it in, move on with life. People are assholes. Not worth fretting over. Blame Obama.

I'm confused. How easy are these things removable? I accidentally cracked the lens on mine and I would like to get it changed, but the dealership quoted me around $400 to replace because its anti-fog so the part is much more expensive. Thing is, everything works fine: the fold in, adjusting angles with the motor, everything. Its just cracked glass. Is there a replacement part for just that glass?
And if they really are that easy to steal, can we do anything to hold them down? Some sort of lock or whatever in the mirror? |

This is getting more common now that heated/electrochromatic mirrors are around. They're expensive, easily resold parts and very easy to remove.

As more and more of the older E9x hit the used car market this will become more and more prevalent. Seems like your E92 is an 07-09. It is that time where the pre-owned hit the market in full force.
