Alpine Reflash Possible for me?

Hi all, I just checked my VIN to check the production month of my car. Checked out to be produced in 02/2007, I think I read the Alpine reflash is for 03/2007 and up, am I out of luck?

Just read for sure 03/07 and up only, think I felt my heart just break. This is the first automatic car Ive ever owned, probably going to be my last. So now I find out car is non sport model, gotta buy new steering wheel to get paddles and now I cant flash my transmission.

Someone pat me on the back and tell me it will be ok please, lol! Might be trading this thing back in sooner rather than later.

Sorry, about the only thing you can do is drop the valve body and replace the MCM with a newer controller.

how much work is involved with doing that?

does that mean the tranny could then be flashed?

Ramps or lift, drop the pan, disconnect MCM, drop the valve body and replace with newer valve body with MCM from newer transmission, install NEW pan (ECS Tuning has a good kit with Red Line Oil) fill with oil. (Never use the old pan... The filter is located in the pan...) Sammy has a DIY on valve body removal. Car-Part dot com has listings for used transmissions all over North America. UK, find a breaker yard that is willing to sell you just the valve body with the MCM controller. Most I have seen you can buy the complete transmission for less than what the valve body and MCM cost pulled out. Good luck. As the first in North America to flash, I can honestly say I won't go back to stock and I won't buy another BMW unless it shifts as good as my transmission shifts today.
