Nonsense the stock dvs are crap when you start upping the boost. OP get the tial BOV if you want too they are very good. If you are worried about your warranty just remove it before service.

If you can get the whole kit for $200 id say do it. Im getting the Active Autowerke kit for twice that and I'll be happy with it. I will be taking mine out before i bring car in for any warranty covered maintenance issues. Easy instal and removal. And BTW the stock Diverter Valves ARE as others have said fine for the Stock boost levels but have proven to be problematic at higher boost levels, which is why people replace them with Aftermarket Forge or Riss DV's.

I prefer BOV sound....even though most people think its "ricey" , but if cars pushing 18+ psi prefer the use of BOV's to prevent spike and creep i feel comfortable too.

Yes, they can and they will if you make any modification to the engine. Denying warranty service because of an ECM piggyback is not unheard of - plenty of feedback from members here.

They will if your dealer is an asshole and if your an idiot, then yes they can try. But any person that knows the first thing about cars, dealers, law and arguing will be perfectly fine.

just installed my AA BOV too. Sounds great to me, I also just got my car serviced for a ball joint, where they saw my new FMIC and BOV but they didnt void my warantee, or even mention it to me.

Tial is one of the best Bov,s on the market.But unless your running enough extra boost that the stock dv,s cant handle,all your getting is a loud whoooosh in between shifts by putting in a bov.But i,m sure you know that.Just mentioning it for the people who think a performance bov will give them any extra power or any other kind of performance boost.It is plain simple,an aftermarket bov is just for turbo cars that have added boost to there cars that the stockers cant handle (as in leaking boost),other than that its just for that cool (if your into that) sound in between shifts,PERIOD!

I've got the AA BOV and absolutely love it. Its a pain to take out and reinstall before going to the dealer though. My SA straight up told me he would void my warranty if he ever found one.

Maybe its placebo but i feel like it made my hard shifts feel a bit better like it was holding boost better. I dont know.

Can you post exactly what you are getting? You can't just get a TiAL bov, you would need the whole charge pipe with the bov attached. Stett makes the charge pipe w/BOV included. Pics below:



Since I'm assuming your young because you listed your age, I think you would want the bov for pure sound. When I was younger, I did exactly this on my 300zxTT, but it didn't adversely effect performance. With the 335i, I heard of some issues cars have blowing off to the atmosphere, this is why they run diverter valves. If I decide on upgrading, I'm going with the Forge diverter valves so I don't have any problems, and also I don't want to run the risk of hurting my engine. It's your car..do whatever you want..

BMW runs diverter valves I think because they don't want a psssh coming from a BMW. Running a BOV doesn't hinder performance, hurt idle or causes any malfunction of any type. We have a tmap car and it doesn't care if its being released into the atmosphere or routed back in. +1 on it being your car and doing whatever you want to do to it.

Thanks for clarifying. My turbo M3 has a pssh sound..I guess BMW would disapprove. Everyone else seems to enjoy it

This is happens to a lot of Subaru owners a few years ago. BOV do actually mess up the A/F ratio during shifts, you need a tune to compensate correctly and I am not sure if JB3 or PROcede can do that.

Regarding the choice of a BOV or not, I would get a new charge pipe with upgraded DVs which seems the best choice for our car.
