On the website in Switzerland it states that "airguiding" (free translated) is included. For me it does not make sense to offer this seperatly.
It somewhat does make sense to order separately. The Power Kit has a huge part common to all the N54 cars, and only a small part (aka the air ducts) are different). It would be alot worse to manage 10-12 different Power Kit part numbers than managing 2 part numbers (for MSD80 and for MSD81) and 10-12 airduct sets (altough even so it is a bit of a mess).

Altough I have to say the air duct sets are prohibitively expensive. My set consisted of 2 small plastic parts (the backplate and a front duct) and it was about $250 !

its no big deal. I had heard about it only a week or so ago and when I went to order my car the salesman was shocked as well. He had never heard anything about it. I had not planned to modify the car but I will pay attention to the x6 community to see if anyone is putting out some serious gains. If that is the case i may consider doing some mods. Considering I got a amazing deal on the car and pretty much got the 7rr for free along with a couple other options, I would be more inclined to ditch the performance pack for some better tuning.

I have used 91 octane lately (instead of the usual 93-94) and while the top end is good, the low-end is noticeably worse than with higher octane. Its like the software was optimized for high octane.
Hi cstavaru!
I'm used to charging 100-octane fuel (Shell V-Power or Tamoil WR 100), instead of the normal unleaded fuel with 95 octane, so I shall not have any problems, have I?
But, tell me, after two months of driving what are your global impressions of the Power Kit?

This will bring the x6 5.0i pretty close to the x6M (445hp vs 555hp)...especially if the power increase is underrated a bit (like it was with the N54 Power Kit).
In addition, I tell you that Bmw has just introduced the Power Kit even for 2.0 turbodiesel engine: power improves from 177bhp to 197bhp and torque rises up from 350nm to 390nm.

I agree from a dealers perspective, he indeed has to gather the needed numbers and order them. this is a configurable product. however one of the airducts has to be ordered, it should not be possible to order without airducts. the endcustomer should for sure not need to think about this. he orders a power kit, complete, meaning with airducts. the selection of the correct partnumbers and the ordering process are the dealers problem. for me it would be strange, even wrong that a powerkit is installed without ducts just because a customer has no clue and for this reason didnot order them.

Great news ! But I hate the fact that the N54 received the least percentage of extra power (177->197: 11%, 407->445: 9.3%, 306->326: 7%).

I think that the 100 octane brings the most power gains with the Power Kit. I used 101 octane from a local station and the car rocks !

The impressions: I don't need more power than this I could use more power when on 95RON fuel, but when 100RON is used, everything changes, everything sharpens, its great.

But I will get the Performance Exhaust, as my last power-mod. After this, only visual mods...

Well the diesel engine receiving the most is no surprise. Then I guess it comes down to the V8 having a bit more room for gains than the I6. That V8TT is gonna be in a lot of upcoming cars. M5, M6, etc. Scary to think what some of these tuners are gonna do to the new Mcars.. especially if they come from the factory boosted. I just read something about the new S4 gaining 70+ hp from simple tuning of their new supercharged platform. I was always under the assumption there wasn't much room for tuning a supercharged engine unless you changed the pulley. But apparently times are changing. This is all great news for us Horse Power Freaks.

My fantasy on all the tune fuss & delay is that BMW is taking the challenges from Audi seriously and will be providing performance kits that smash the competition. It would be the quickest, easiest, and least expensive way for BMW to win the intense arms race in these performance market segments.

Just got this e-mail from BMWNA:

Upgrade with the BMW Performance Power Kit

100% exhilaration just got a boost.
Learn more about the new BMW Performance Power Kit

Every BMW has a history rooted in performance, but maintaining that power is up to you. With the BMW Performance Power Kit, it’s easier than ever to do just that. Redefine your engine’s capabilities with increased torque, maximized output of 320 horsepower, and acceleration up to 0.5 seconds faster than a standard model*.

It’s time to make your next drive even more exhilarating than the last.

For more information, including a BMW center nearest you, visit bmwusa.com.

There is a picture as well and a POWER (output) GRAPH:
http://links.emails.bmwusa.com/ctt?k...YxS0&mt=1&rt=0

Well, according to BMW Parts; BMWUSA has frozen the shipment for these parts. The good news is; the kit is in the country; about 30 or so of them. The bad news; dealers cannot get it to ship yet.

I thought this may have to do with emission; but, from the write up above, from BMWUSA; there is no trouble emission wise.

will let you know what I find.

Power Kit: Only Port Install Available (for now)

Bad news, folks! (at least for some of us).

Two dealers confirmed that the Power Kit is only available for new cars and for Port Installs.
Anyone can order it, but parts cannot give you an estimated time of arrival.

Dealer here in Portland Oregon also says that the kit is only available for new cars, not available for install (yet) on my car. Also told me cost is ~$4k.

I'd try another dealer for pricing reasons alone.

The pricing is all over the place. The latest quote I got was $2400 in Florida.
No one can really tell me why the confusion.
