Question to the vendors: Why don't you offer a trade-in option where the customer would simply send in the complete enclosures (with OEM drivers) and you would then send back the enclosures with the new woofers already installed?

I wouldn't have a problem with this, but Im just a shop owner and distributor. Not a 'legal' vendor on here. I am sure VP could do something though ..

Seems like this could be arranged to work in the same way that OSS does AE upgrades. What say ye, VP? |

I'm doing that... I can even send your selected woofer already installed in a OEM enclosure -with OEM connectors already wired- with a refundable core charge for your enclosures.

Im trying to read all these threads on upgrading my audio system.... and i have come to the conclusion that it is not worth it!
Please some one tell me something different. my last car was a piece of crap but at least i could rip out all the speakers and put a bad ass system within a couple of hours. And also i didnt have to worry about selecting the right depth of a speaker, i just picked the best ones and i was off. If anyone has or can supply a link of a member who did a nice install with quality speakers and without spending $10,000 please post i need some encouragement.... i need my music loud |

It's not a Honda, dude. Takes planning. If you don't do the planning and research, you may have crappy results (many do). There are plenty of links for many forum members who have done that. Some are our customers and some delved into the data and did their own systems. I'm the wrong guy to reassure you, since loud is apparently your goal. We do SQ here, not loud so much. I think it's possible for far less than 10K USD or CAN, but hey, what do I know about loud? I suggest you start a new thread and ask for advice, rather than jacking this thread, and then Ctuna in a fit of enabler frenzy will give you every link you could ever want. |

I really think you are offering him solutions to problems he doesn't have. Based on what he's said, the first would be a waste, and the second would be far from enough.

XD600/6 is a great amp for the car, but you'd need another amp for step 3 my guess is he'd need a trunk mounted sub (step 3) to fulfill his "a bad ass system" requirement i don't think you can get "damn loud" with 4" speakers, no matter what brand you use. |

Morel integra Ovation works, I believe, but a set of those will be much more than the IA center speaker. Probably most 4" coaxes will work, since there is not a depth limitation like in the doors. But by the time you buy a set of coaxes, and may need to make modifications or adapters, how much more is the IA speaker really?

I sell Integra Ovations singly. Also, the Rainbow Sound Line 100mm coax requires no mod either, just two clips out of a Morel 4" kit... we sell those singly too.

We agree here, of course - but I don't see that he gets much from playing with the MS-8 settings, either, if he's frustrated by having to do research on what fits his car. Someone else, more interested, sure.
