NO BOOST! help! vacum test completed, lines changed
Hello all ! in need of a little help here, I have been in a process of diagnosing my 335i I have 53k miles, one of the days I go to start it up and not building any boost got the notorious 30ff code and half engine light. Did the vacum checks found lines are damaged replaced as needed, still no good, have adequate vacum coming from canisters to the solenoids, and when I T into the solenoid to solenoid line as outlined in the DIY there is no vacum at all. Also Waste gate rods are not moving even when vacum is applied directly to them with a hand held pump. So whats at fault here?? I need my ride back (( Thanks in advance

Did you change the lines from solenoids to wastegate actuator? I would replace lines from hard brake booster pipe all the way to each wastegate. If you have new vacuum hose reach down and plug it into rear wastegate actuator, plug other end directly into your hand pump. If you apply 6Hgi the rod should have closed wastegate. It should also hold vacuum until you remove the hand pump. If it doesn't.....your actuator has a leak or it's ruptured.

What?! You put a mityvac on the line coming from the wastegate and nothing moved? To be clear.....If you pull off the vacuum line from the "T" fitting at the boost solenoid and plug your mityvac in.......directly to wastegate actuator.......nothing moves? I find this hard to believe man. If your actuator was that toast then the wastegates would be left fully open and rattle would not occur. You would produce very low if much boost because of this and a code of 30ff would have popped up. I think you may have used some other vacuum tool that isn't sufficient bud? There's one for $40 at autozone with a built in gauge.

If there is no vacuum post solenoids you could also have a JB4 board or harness issue preventing boost build up. The older generation JB4 boards (maybe 2 years ago?) had a weaker power transistor that would sometime go out.

2 years sounds about right, I've tried switching off the jb4 but made no difference. Should I unplug it completely?
