Yes the turbine wheel is clipped... count the blades there the same amount as the oem wheel. If you count the wheels on the ASR turbos, you will see its a completely different turbine wheel which is also slightly larger than stock. They look similar to GT20 compressor wheels to me. |

Im a super nooob to turbo upgrades, but can these new turbos be used without a tune, with just the stock ECU and will there be power increases if used that way?

Let me get this straight.....This turbo upgrade involves the replacement of the BMW factory units on an exchange basis with re-machined and internally modified units of the same OEM factory units . GTPRO are not using aftermarket units as some may be thinking.

it works wonders plus I really doubt the n54 can handle bigger turbos without a SERIOUS internal rebuild so I think this is as good as it will get |

What makes you say this? You have no evidence backing this at all. This motor could be good for 600-700 rwhp, we just don't know yet because nobody has pushed it yet. We will find out soon.

The N54 appears to be strong from the evidence we have. The fuel system will be the limitation. |

So far on other DI motors the injectors have not been the first limitation, but the HPFP. I have no idea if this will be the case for the N54. |
