Another IT question!!! iTunes/iPhone/iPod
Right, my new laptop is now taking shape, but what do I need to about porting iTunes over; more so my iPod & iPhone??
I've reinstalled iTunes, and all music, which is ready & waiting but do I need to do anything with my iPod & iPhone - deauthorise or something (whatever that means). I mean before I try to sync them on the new machine?? Sorry about the stupid questions but am crap at all things i-xxxx.

If your on the latest iOS and have iTunes Match you dont have to do anything with you iPhone. Infact my iPhone has been any near my laptop for the last 12 months, all the backups are done to iCloud directly, all my music is avaliable via iTunes Match, iCloud sorts out calender syncs and photo uploads, now that you can upgrade iOS directly from the phone there really is no need to bother with the whole sync with iTunes/Laptop...dont know about iPods though, havent used one for years and years.

Problem being I'm old school (or just old) so haven't activated iCloud. Just stick a cable in (and hope). Shall I just plug both into the new laptop & see what pops up??

Hi Roger
If you are signed in on iTunes on the old computer then yes, you can deauthorise it but its not essential. As for moving your entire library across, check this out: http://myscaleo.wordpress.com/2007/0...-new-computer/ |
