Battery dying?

Everytime I turn off the car there is a picture of a battery shows up... Is it warning me that if I sit in the car for a second without completely turning off the car it will die... Or does it mean it's actually dying?

WHAT BATTERY SHOULD I GET???

You need to fully charge up the battery, then load test it. I got that in winter 2010. Cuz I didn't drive enough, battery was fine.

It's being preventative and warning you that your battery is on its last legs. When it happened to me, the on board clock stopped holding time, comfort access stopped functioning, and iDrive did not boot up until the engine was on.
It's like the low gas warning that comes on. You can keep driving, but eventually you'll get screwed.

that actually might be it... the car is a 2007 but when i bought it the dealer told me it had been sitting for awhile... so it may just need more driving... ill definitely charge it up to see if it makes any difference... thank you.

The battery is about 6 years old. I would change it.

Some electrical issues prior to battery replacement - none since.

Change it asap. When the battery is weak, the ECU and accessories start doing random stuff and occasionally self destroy.

Is there any tests you can do to diagnose whether the battery is just low or at the end of its life?

Then most likely the lifespan of the battery has ended.... Make sure not to do just a battery swap from a local place since it has caused many issues for not properly programming it.

The OEM battery has an "eye" that should have a specific color when the battery is fine, and another one when it is not holding good charge.

Should be green when ok, black when not.

Guys, a load test tells all! What is the resistance to doing one? It's free!
