17" Apex ARC-8 on a LCI sedan?

I am considering going down the route of 17"s as opposed to 18"s as I enjoy the look of a meatier setup. I have only seen one picture of a E90 LCI on 17"s, so I am curious if anyone else has messed around with it.

Plan on doing 17X9 ET30 fronts with 245/45 and 17X9.5 ET35 rears with 265/40.

Also, are there any pros/cons with 17"s opposed to 18"s? Besides cost of wheels/tires? How's the handling in comparison?

Thanks!

I have 17x9 et30 with 255/40-17's front and rear. No issues here.

I think there's a bit more front end wander going from 205 width front tires to the 255's but the steering is more neutral than the staggered setup I tried.

17's will tend to be a tad softer/smoother over road imperfections with the larger sidewall, though that is significantly impacted by the tire you choose also.

I plan on doing PS4S' when they come out for 17/18" in the Spring. I am hoping those will do the trick just fine for double duty.

Here are some more 17" pics, if they help.

Generally speaking, reducing unsprung weight (such as wheels and tires) is very beneficial as far as handling, acceleration and braking.

I don't mean to steal your thread, but I was wondering if anyone had photos of a 17x8.5 ET40 with 255/40 tires on an e90 non-M? I'm looking at that, or the 17x9 ET30 with the same tires.

Do the fronts rub at all with 255s up front?
I have sport package and it's a DD and don't want issues.

17s look the business. Thinking of doing this too with a set of Conti DWS 06, square setup.

Lowered with 255 front and no rubbing.
