Have you tried just to change the bulb anyways to see if the problem goes away.
If not, then as a test, swap left to right and right to left, see if the fault follows the bulb. If so, it's the bulb, if not, it deeper problem. Did you get any coding done, or any work recently on your car? DN |

I'd replace the bulb to see if it fixes it. Had a similar issue with a marker light on the trunk lid. Get the dash warning, all the lights worked. Turns out the filament broke, and most of the time it would "work".

This happened to me recently. Checked the bulb of course, but it was good. Ended up being the "Turn indicator bulb socket"(Part #63117159571 for my make and year. Might be different for you) as it just went bad. If that's what it turns out to be and you don't have a spare in your parts bin to swap out, you're staring at $12-15 bucks to get a new one(checked out PenskeParts). Good luck.

I had the issue all wrong. It turns out it is the bulb. I saw the warning that cornering light malfunction and thought it was the corner amber lights. Go figure my car has a kool cornering light feature that I was totally oblivious to until yesterday. So I switched bulbs around and it is indeed dead.
