Is this realistic?
I am on the lookout for a 335d preferably touring (would consider 330d but must be auto) but would consider saloon and low milage is a must.I currently own an '07 Alpina D3 which as only covered 22k at the moment. Would I have to part with a lot of cash to make the change do you reckon?

I realise this Martin, seems to be very few around. As I said I would consider a saloon and even a 330d but a 335d touring m sport is what I am relly after. The other major part of my criteria is low milage

Took me ages to find my 335d touring with a good spec. I also wanted a low mileage but they are near impossible to find. Mine had 66k on when I bought 6 months ago. Would love one with a really low mileage but they are so few and far between you could wait for months on end till one comes up. The perfect car rarely exist, sometimes you just need to compromise.
Good luck finding what you want, I would hold out for the 335d though...I did and it was well worth it. |

Again pricing these things is a challenge.
I spotted my old 335D SE Touring on a forecourt the other day. 2008MY 57 Plate. 80k miles. half leather, xenons, bluetooth, no nav. The price on the window is £12,995! |

Thats cheap, even for an SE, lack of full leather and Nav kills it a little
The E91 335d M Sport from experience command a good bit more than their saloon and coupe counterparts |

Yeah that is cheap. I paid nearly £20k for mine earlier in the year but it has got all the right bits. That seemed to be the going rate at the time from a main dealer.

Yes that does sound cheap, although I am after something with lower miles than that. Some of the main dealer prices do seem a lot higher but its probably the way I will just for the added piece of mind. Saying that though if I came across the right example private then who knows.

To much to go wrong not to have a warrenty in my opinion. All depends how much you want to pay for peace of mind.

If I were you I would sell the alpina privately, the trade in value on them isn't that great if I remember right, and buy privately, and add a warranty with BMW like I did
I bought mine as a trade car from BMW as I know the sales manager in the local dealer, and added the warranty myself, I saved at least 5k on forecourt prices of similar specced cars |

You don't need to go through BMW approved used cars to get the warranty any more of course..
Just call bmw finance and enquire about a warranty once you've bought the car. They charge a slight premium for year 1 if I'm not mistaken as the history of the car will have a grey spot (any time between last warranty expiring, and now) and now. So I'd recommend buy private with a good inspection, and then get an official BMW warranty for peace of mind. If possible.

http://bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/detail...1x12-price_ASC Or, in opposite trim and even nicer perhaps, and at a VERY good price for a 10 plate 335d with such low miles: http://bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/detail...1x12-price_ASC Non nav though Who specs heated seats but not nav
