Gas Mileage
Just want to ask fellow Canadian on what kind of gas mileage they are getting, in good metric L/100km. To help standardize the comparison, it'd be great if the following information is provided.
Average gas mileage observed: Average gear shift rev: Ratio of City/Highway driving: Auto/Manual Transmission: Vehicle model (E90/E92 32X/33X): Mods that can impact mileage, if any: Other notes relevant to mileage: I just got my car for a bit n is beginner in manual, so my gas mileage is nth to be referenced on. Just wondering what other's are getting to see if I'm doing ridiculously bad, or just a lil bad. Thanks! |

I like my mileage measurements in MPG so I leave the computer on MPG. I used this page to convert the numbers: http://www.teaching-english-in-japan.net/conversion/mpg
E90 | 325i | MT (60% city / 40% highway) = 10 to 9.4 l / 100km This is based on conservative/average driving style. If I drive like I stole it then I've seen it go up over 11 l / 100km. On more highway cycle I've also had it hit 8.6 l / 100km. |

OBC says 9.8 l/100km or 28.8 mpg since delivery.
Shift around 3500 typically. So far 50/50 highway/city. E90 2.5 litre six 323i, 6MT. Zero mods. On the highway I found myself skip-shifting from 4th to 6th, as I reached 120 km/h in 4th and then skipped 5th. Last weekend's trip to Saskatoon (1300 km round trip) netted 8.3 l/100km or 34 mpg at cruising speed of 120 km/h - I think that's pretty impressive for a car that is barely past the break-in period, about 2600 km so far. |

Average gas mileage observed: 9.8L/100KM
Average gear shift rev: 2500-3000 rpm Ratio of City/Highway driving: 40% city/60% highway Auto/Manual Transmission: Auto Vehicle model (E90/E92 32X/33X): E92 328i Mods that can impact mileage, if any: IKON exhaust, staggered 19s Other notes relevant to mileage: everyday i drive home, i need to drive up a very steep hill (i live on a plateau) for at least 5 mins of constant uphill driving. Most of the time i drive very relax style, but on highway off ramps, i like to not use brakes but engine break and take the exit at 100km/h+ when the recommended is 50km/h for the exit ramp

Seems like it is reasonable to get under 10L/100km... I am seeing 11.XL/100km for now. 5 days into manual transmission driving and less than 400km on the odo tho.... trying to get shift in at 3k or so.... hopefully i'd hit 10L/100km average pretty soon...... |
