I actually find the GS to be quite a lot of car for the money when compared to the German brands. Especially when you can walk out of the dealership paying $2k below invoice like I did...

Congrats on the new Lexus!

Do you have any pics of the front end?

Thanks in advance.

Where did I say vs a 328? I mean vs a lot of cars. 328 at anything near $56k is STUPID. That goes without saying.

I'd never consider a 328 regardless of cost.

Anything over 47K for a 328i is overpriced in my opinion.

so, why would you pay extra 10k for the equally equipped 535i?
The sticker on the GS was $56, I doubt the OP paid anything close to that (as he mentioned)...
F30 335 MSport, loaded (as this GS is) will cost you more than $5k extra (sticker)

Nice car, so much technology in there, and an extremely comfortable ride.

I'll be honest though, it's not that fast or exciting... Definitely not a car for me personally. Love the looks and the interior though!

Again, I made no mention of any specific cars. Are you trying to go GS vs every BMW model out there or what?

Start a new thread for that.

Yeah I agree, the LFA is pretty amazing.

The ISF is also nice, but it's not the most exciting car in its class. C63 AMG > M3 = RS4 > ISF

The CTSV would be the leader of this group if it weren't for the fact that the CTSV is one of the ugliest cars on the road. It's really a shame.

I can't look past the horrendously ugly "grandpa car" look of the CTSV. I'd take a C63 AMG or an M3 in this class. I'd even consider an ISF before a CTSV, sadly enough.

LOL looks are subjective. Performance wise, the V wins. No disputing facts.

I have driven the CTS-V sedan and CTS-V coupe on MSR race track couple of years ago. I had a lot of my inherit bias coming from mostly BMW's.

However, my bias was soon over come on track as CTS-V is overall very nice performance machine. It has great on track capability and is on par with most of performance cars in its class. Each lap I felt I could go faster then previous one as it is confidence inspiring.

As far as looks go I am not a huge fan of sedan but the coupe looks very edgy and sharp. It does not look like something an old man would drive but rather a young hip male or female. In fact I have one in bright red that drives from close to my neighborhood all the way down Hwy 6. It looks great.

Now no car is without flaws. The things I found I disliked in CTS-V coupe and that could be improved are as follow.

1. The manual transmission is fine but the auto needs to be upgraded to 7-speed auto or better yet 7-speed DCT style.

2. The engine note on basic CTS-V coupe is muted and should be far more aggressive.......hell with all the luxury car buyers who want to turn performance cars into quiet library like toasters called Lexus.

3. The interior has a bit too much shiny plastic look.

4. The gap in wheel wells is too large. It needs to be reduced to give car a better stance.

5. The steering wheel is good in feel and feedback with accurate responses. However, coming from E92 335i it felt a bit on the lighter side.

6. The gas mileage is not good at all. The car could use Eco mode with cylinder deactivation for daily drive.

Bottom line is despite those few flaws listed above I find fully loaded CTS-V coupe a great deal better bargain then fully loaded C63 AMG coupe, E92 M3 or RS5 etc. If the fuel prices were not sky high I would not hesitate owning one.

I payed more for a 535i bec it looks Much Better for 1.

I can custom order the car in any color combo. (Try this with Lexus lol)
I can order a RWD in Northeast (Again try this with Lexus lol)
Lexus has old powertrain with 6speed Auto and horrendous sounding/ticking engine.

GS also has lack of luxury features like power folding mirrors, trunk, rear side shades etc. (All these i have and use daily on my 5)

"Much better" -- in your dreams!

Custom color any color combo, that will cost you tons more. Any color combo (not custom) of available colors (a few interior and a handful of extrior) -- sure. If that justifies extra $10k, you're a lucky guy. What "custom color combo" did you order?

RWD in Northeast??? What is the point of that? A boat with RWD in snow is useless boat. BTW, lexus.com shows both options available RWD and AWD for 2013 GS.

Just glancing over "Build your Lexus" all of those lux options are available on 2013 GS, so I am not sure where you got your facts...

Not sure about the tranny...

@R N M
Does your 535i also have a warp drive? Post more pics about your 535i. I wanna hear more about your 535i. Your 535i is faster than an M5, right? You paid more for your 535i because it also looks better than the M5, correct?

http://carsort.com/compare/BMW-5-Series-vs-Lexus-IS

Take a look(;

There's no need to hate on Lexus, buddy. I don't own one, but they're quality cars.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I know Lexus is sort of a taboo name over here but I think if you are being honest with yourself you can admit that they make a pretty decent automobile. I certainly didn't come here claiming my new GS is better than a 5-series but its a competent competitor and the price was right for me...
