Thanks for the info Wopalx.

Anyway, Just got a phone call from BMW sydney ask me not to come today, they will ring me tomorow again. The other problem: Bluetooth doesnt work ( only can hear incoming voice ) BMW said something wrong with the Microphone.
Each problem comes one by one, I might have a Bad xmass this year.

As frustrated as you might be, please be patient and i'm sure it will get sorted out. I think the explaination made by WOPALX makes good sense. Electronics in cars is far too complicated for their own good. The average car has over 100 microprocessors today and as reliable as electronics is, it just means there is more to go wrong. The positive is that you are dealing with a reputable company in BMW and one thing they are good at is honouring warrenty claims.

I've said this before -: The amount you spend on a car has no baring on how reliable or problem free you will be. Acutually, surveys done in the UK have always demonstrated BMW and MB to have the most warrenty claims per 100 cars sold. Honda consistantly rates on the better end.

Hang in there...

Got mine back.

Brakes will give me a warning at 1000klms to go.

Vanos solenoid was replaced to hopefully fix my limp issues , if not then it's some camshaft work for me .

I don't see why you would be concerned about safety as it's only an electronic sensor warning you too soon that something needs to be fixed.

So BMW Sydney don't want you putting many kms on the car ?

Bad luck - I haven't had a loan car from BMW yet, but do you sign that you can only do xxx kms per day ???

I get loan cars from Subaru every few months when I take my car there for some care. Last time I put about 1400kms on in in a week LOL.

He asked where I had been, I explained the snow and back twice and that was as far as it went.

The loan car paperwork I signed stated a cost of $35 per day and a maximum of 100kms a day, but I never pay and usually go over the km allowance with prior arrangment with the Manager there . It does pay to go back to the same service centre at times they like knowing/seeing/laughing at all your $$$ is going back to them

NO

If it was a $5000 second hand car they would love your story, but as someone else suggested a $100,000 car with a minor problem will turn into a story that makes you look bad

My advice
Push the dealer as hard as you can about the problem
Write a letter to BMW head office, not an email, not a phone call, but a good old letter
Then consumer affairs, having 8 problems in a short time period is NOT reasonable

Wouldn't worry about it to be honest.

I'd ring your SA and tell them you aren't too happy though. top it up in Melb. It'll be fine, no drama what so ever.

Go to any petrol station and purchase a liter of oil. Just make sure it's fully synthetic and if possible it should have on the bottle "BMW Long Life 2" approved.

Otherwise call BMW assist and they may be able to come and do it for you.

Different engines run different weight oil though. Not a good idea to mix them. Just my 0.02012312 cents adjusted for inflation.
