Well... Where I grew up, 'vag' was short for vagina.

I ain't gonna be seen dead driving a vagina car.

This all came about from an actual race with a forum member back when I had my stock vw rocco with just a tune from BMR autowerkes.. It transformed the car into a little torque monster! It is very quick off the mark and even kept up (maybe even pulled on) an n54 with fbo.. make what you wish out of that but it is the truth.

Whether or not the bmw had traction issues or not, on a roll in 3rd it was actually quite close and I was more than suprised!

After owning both cars, the BMW definitely has the raw power advantage and road presence over the little rocco, however in terms of driving satisfaction through the twisties and daily driving, the scirocco definitely holds its own and I would love to own another VW in my time when the chance arises!

It's just great to see some people get worked up over something they read on the internet sometimes, and I can't help myself
Okay so one race, just one. Well theres hundreds of quarter mile times for both cars posted online exactly the same as your claim is here, that have exactly the same amount of credibility that are saying that isnt possible. So what to believe ? One cliam to which the power figures and delivery, quarter mile times and vast majority of online claims do not support at all, or do we look at the actual figures from both cars, look at all the times posted online and do some basic maths and see that a tune only 335 n54 is in most cases going to be quicker over the qtr mile than a tune only rocco.

Lets not even consider the fbo part, tune only - the figures that we know, do not support your story. Let alone the claim that this car was, fbo which can be had for 3k btw, not 15 and can attain in excess of 400whp.

Im sure your story actually happened, but unfortunately i think you got lucky, the other driver could have missed the drop, bogged, assed his launch, wrong gear, whatever. it doesn't add up.

Actually, no.

It was over about 5 races on a cruise we went on, and I have witnesses from friends in other cars who can verify this.

Yes obviously there could have been a little bit of driver error vs someone that regularly attends track days and drag nights, but that's the whole fun of it which is a point I think you are missing..

OK - my OP was based on a golf 7r not a rocco.

I am specifically interested in a stage 1 tune golf 7R, not a fwd gen 2 ea888 rocco. They are 2 completely different cars (in different leagues after tuning).

After some light research I'm thinking a stage 2 golf 7r might be quicker than my car (tune, intake, dps). But certainly not a fwd stage 1 rocco.

On an aside, 5 races against a "fbo 335i" (what does that even mean - the definition of fbo is quite broad, some ppl even consider intake, fmic, and dp as fbo) and a rocco is not conclusive evidence of anything. The 335 was obviously not running right. I would do some maintenance on that car asap.

Out of fairyland, and in the real world there is conclusive empirical evidence that a fbo 335 is in a diff league than a stage 1 rocco. Looks at 1/4 times, 1/4 drags on youtube etc.

You are young and I presume dumb. Enough of your trolling. Go to school, after your mum changes your nappy.

Mods please shut down my thread, I've seen enough.

Sigh, okay five races not one, my point is exactly the same, one experience (yours) and all the rest, suggesting the opposite, what to believe ? Not a hard one to work out. Im done here, facts are known, figures are there for all to see if they choose.

Regardless, im not missing the point, you HAD to be called on your claims of tune only rocco dusting 15K mods FBO 335i ect ect, everyone knows that shouldn't happen given equal driver ability and no major fkups. you cant honestly make that claim and not expect to get called out on it when its so obviously skewed/other factors at play when we KNOW a tune only jb4 will still in most cases win, let alone with FBO.

Im done

Sure thing mate, you post a stupid thread about getting whipped by a VW and assume it must have an APR stage 3 kit on it because you're such a skilled driver and own one of the fastest cars in the world?

Stupid threads deserve stupid responses, Anyhoo, sorry if I offended you mate, I will go back to school I guess.

I think there's a little too many personal attacks here, bringing in mums and name calling...

It's all fun and games, and Bee obviously came out to say he was trolling, at the end of the day he is actually driving a BMW e92 (allbeit an n55) which we'll forgive him for.

Don't take things so seriously guys.

VWs are not bad cars except for their long term reliability. But it's the attitude of VW Golf GTI and Golf R owners that pisses me of. They think it's a freakin' Ferrari just coz it has a turbo engine and a 7 speed DSG gearbox, and then they start talking shit about Mercs, Beamers and other JDM cars blah blah and how superior is Audi/VW engineering.. etc. lmao

I used to own a 2006 MK5 Jetta Turbo 6-DSG and I am a member of 2 big VW forums, OMG the amount of fights and childish behaviour I saw on these forums LMAO

VWW is shocking.
I actually quit the Brisbane Euro's FB page, just so damn tired of all the sik***s in Golfs with a little tune, and the bickering that goes on between them all. Biggest bunch of fanbois out.
