Intercooler would be a bit over a $1000
ATM was about 1100
Just over $6.5k and I'll have to diy it.
Would love to see the comparison, back to back, same tune.

I don't understand how more air can be forced out of the same sized wheels with the same stock frames.

more efficient wheel design?

I don't think Pure have released any info on the size of their stg2 wheel so it may be bigger?

Pure said the wheel is larger than RB's.

That's just how they roll mate.

They play their cards close to their chest, which is what they did with the N55 Stage 2 turbocharger and the S55 twin upgrade, but both models have been kicking arse since they were released.

I have 3 sets of Pure Stage 2's on order right now.

One of which will be going on a vehicle that currently has RB's installed that is running straight E85 on PI with a Stage 3 LPFP blah blah blah.

Oh, VTT "sillycone" pipes come off and a polished TFT kit goes on with the Pure turbos.

I don't believe the tft inlets on rhd are any more beneficial than vtts inlets.

Especially considering the rear inlet has to do a sharp bend compared to a 45 degree with vtts inlets.

I know tft has a large charge pipe but the effect of the rear iblet would be at a loss.

Im not a vtt fan by the way.

If lhd I would be into tft but rhd???

Agreed. Not a VVT fan at all myself and you have to take into account the filters on the hot side compared to the cooler side.

if the tft's were $1k ish I would go with them, but sadly they're a lot more and its kinda difficult to justify the price in BFYB terms

Well I can tell you that I have personally tuned two N54' with standard wheel-set RB's, one with VTT inlets the other with TFT and my "sharp bend" (lol) RHD elbow. FYI, the RB's on the VTT setup struggled to make 23psi above 6,000rpm even with duty bias tweaking, where as the TFT car easily made 23.5psi with a WGDC in the high 50's.

Self confession: I have TFT's.

Now that's out of the way...

'Benefits' are all completely subjective, and not knowing the finer details makes assumptions purely that, an assumption.

Let's start with WGDC @ like for like boost targets, do you know what those figures are for VTT/RB vs TFT @ 21-22psi? (No?) ~80 and ~50 respectively.

Let's also consider what boost levels the VTT/RB vs TFT start to max out (usable power) - So far, VTT/RB are at ~23psi and TFT are at 28+psi.

Premium hardware which will outlast the life of the vehicle.

K&N Filters, OEM relocation parts, clamps and bracketry.

And one of my most favourite things about this mod, the intoxicating induction and turbo spool which can be heard loud and clear!! (Can't compare stainless steel and sillycon when it comes to this)

So there you have it, some of the main differences for everyone to consider if these points alone are consider beneficial.

TFT's are ultimately the best albeit arent they well over $3k? (by memory their $3.5K?)

RB inlets were $500 odd and unfortunately I couldnt justify the TFT's for the $

Surely not at this exchange rate, and JD's CF elbow is an additional $600ish?

Far out turbos for these cars are so over priced. $4800 turbos ($5400 retail)+ $850 core charge, + maybe $300 postage, + 10% import taxes, + fitting kit. May as well go a big single. Would love some Pure's but cant justify the price
